Dakine Ski Bags

Looking at possibly buying a travel bag since I'll be flying more in the coming years. Dakine says their large bags fit up to 190cm skis. How much extra room is there at that length? My Kartels are 191cm and run long.

Sick unhelpful post dude.

OP I have the Dakine Fall Line Roller Bag in a 190 cm that I've had for a few years and have been happy with it. One complaint I do have is that there are no straps on the inside to hold your skis in place, but I usually stuff some outerwear and my towels in there and everything stays in place.

I don't have a tape measure currently but I just checked and my 184 Marksmans (which run 185cm straight pull according to Blister) have a good 8cm or so. It may be tight but I think your skis can squeeze in there.

I've only used it for skis up to 185 but I think as long as you aren't trying to carry 3 or 4 pairs of 190+ skis you'll be totally fine. The bag is huge. As noted above there aren't any tie downs inside so I've just strapped everything together with voile straps or whatever they're called. I've transported two pairs of adult and two junior along with four sets of poles and some padding (outerwear and a towel) the biggest issue for air travel is keeping it under 50lbs.

I think overall the bag is a good value. Can be found on sale for a little over $100 frequently.

u gotta admit this doesn’t make sense. Why would you get a ski bag if you were from the Midwest and moving out west. Yeah you would fly to see family but you wouldn’t bring skis. And the whole point of moving west is to not fly. This is a rich kid paradox and doesn’t deserve to be taken seriously.

1. I work for a nonprofit, my salary is 100% fundraised and am by no means a 'rich kid.'

2. Maybe I would like to ski with my dad who taught me to ski and with friends that I worked with for 3 seasons when I come back.

3. Is your name Liam? I had a buck toothed bully in middle school by that name and guys seem to possess similar qaulities.

I had some similar questions when I was in the market for a ski bag 2 weeks ago. I looked at Dakine but I read some reviews that complain about not having interior straps. Some people also complained that the bag sags and doesn't roll properly on its wheels.

I would've ordered a Douchebag since it seems like they're the highest-rated by everyone. However, they're out of stock and I needed a travel bag ASAP.

Based on an old NS Thread, I ordered a 4FRNT Ski Bag. It's padded and has all the same features of the Dakine Fall Line. It's long enough for 195cm skis (my 190 Deathwish Tours fit great). There are internal straps to cinch down skis and poles, and there's even a padded ski divider to keep bindings from scratching against each other. The wheels are higher quality than the cheapo plastic crap that comes on a lot of roller bags. The build quality, padding, and zippers are high-quality. I'm really happy with it. If you have concerns about the Dakine bag, here's another option

Sweet, thanks for the tip, I will be sure to look into it.

I have a Douchebag and can definitely endorse it. My parents live overseas so I traveled with it quite a bit, usually with 2 pairs of skis. I could fit 2 pairs of skis, my boots and my outerwear with no problem. I have a Bootlocker from Dakine and can definitely say that it’s quality af, I’ve had it for like 7 or 8 years. Not sure about the length on the ski bag but the quality is there for sure.

I have the Fall Line in the 190 and I don’t think you will have any issue putting 191s in them. I put two pairs of skis and a ton of other stuff in it and I still have room. The issue with this bag isn’t space it is making sure you keep it under your allowed weight. It is easy to overload. And yes, as mentioned, the only down side is there are no internal straps to hold down the skis, but it does come with two additional gear bags (at least mine did) that you can organize clothes or other crap in and stuff it in the ski bag.

I have taken it on lots of trips and it is very sturdy.

the environment thanks you

I guess you're so high and mighty you bike everywhere huh? Next time you drive somewhere, just remember that the plane is more efficient per passenger than a personal vehicle.

The least efficient? An Uber so I guess you never do that huh? I bet you have a hybrid or full electric vehicle too.

Go fuck the hole of an oak tree you thread diverting hippie.

I have the dakine 190cm bag and 189 prodigy’s. It’s a snug fit but I can fit my skis all gear and some clothes and it is still under 50 lbs. I also have honey badgers I put in the bag but that means less room for everything else because of two pairs of skis In the bag

You'll be fine, I bet your skis measurements a bit shorter than 191 and those bags are huge. I have a friend who fits 182 Faction to the 175 Dakine bag

Question for you guys since I'm a converted snowboarder. I sold my snowboard bag cuz it was too short for my new skis, but I was just planning on getting a longer snowboard bag to replace since they are bigger and fit so much gear. Is there any advantage to getting the ones actually made for skis? I'd rather have something that just fits everything and I have one bag to throw in the back of the car with all the gear in it.

While I hate the fall line bag and I think it's a flimsy piece of crap, given your skis are 191, you may not have problems with it. The skis I put in there were 178 and 171 and it was too long a bag to stay straight when I picked it up. To be honest felt like the bag had 200cm space, I think you'll be fine with it.

I have one similar and I would Highly recommend. I fit a lot of clothes along with skis. Great spot to hide weed when flying. Even fits all my dildos and vibrators.
