D5000 or D60

i am looking for a new DSLR and i have been looking at a lot of nikons and i need you help deciding. i have about $850 so if i got the d5000 i would not be able to buy a new lens but if i went with the d60 i would be able to.

if it was me i would have the screen like normal dslrs the flip is could , if you were too rough with it break but i havent used it but go with the canon t1i or the d60
but thats just 1 man opinion dont base you decision on just me

definitely d60 with a new lens. the flip screen and video isnt worth it on the d5000. its just a trick to get uneducated people to buy a more expensive camera... you dont need it. ive said it to you before... glass is always more important. buy yourself a nice lens. or better yet, get a d40 with an even better lens. i have a d60 and i honestly regret spending the extra $ for it over the d40. it just adds megapixels and d-lighting (which i never ever use). and you dont need the extra megapixels unless you are making huge prints, which i doubt you are

as i posted in the other thread, the problem with the d40/d60 is that not all lenses will autofocus on it due the to lack of an internal af motor.... not a huge deal if you want to manual focus all the time but thats just not realistic, especially when shooting events or sports. Shooting skiing/skating mf is much better because you are shooting one trick at a time and setting up the shot, but it can be a frustrating feature to miss
