Cutting down armada ski poles, Help

Does anyone have any experience with cutting down and resizing armada poles? I mainly need help with removing the grips and putting them back on as I would prefer to use the original grips. And does anyone know if you can put the straps back on once grips are removed?

what are the grips like? some have a screw, some you can just heat up and pull off with some elbow grease and maybe a couple tools
