I saw that on this roller blading website you can dye the plastic of your rollerblades to change the color. I was wondering if you could do the same for your ski boot. It would be super sick to have a diy custom boot. Although I don't wanna mess up the flex of my boot or anything. Does anyone have experience in this or tried it on a ski boot? http://www.aggressivemall.com/AMALL-Dye-p/dye-diy.htm

your boots will be fine , plenty of people do it.

use RIT dye and remember that the color you are dying it to has to be darker than the original color.

I have always wondered how this doesn't at least somewhat fuck up the plastic. I used to dye lacrosse heads all the the time and after dying a head the plastic was never as stiff as it was originally. When you heat plastic up the particles expand and allow the dye to penetrate the plastic. The particles have a hard time going back together as they were even if you put it back in the freezer to try and reverse the effects. The expansion of the particle is what causes the plastic to be more flexible.

I know that boots will be made of a different plastic but all plastic reacts to heat/cold in a generally similar way and with that being said I would personally never dye boots.

So I tried dyeing my boos like everyone else used rit dye and followed instructions boots took no die at all anyone had this problem ???
