Sick of googling answers to questions that you don't understand or simply can't solve?
Tired of posting a "Homework Help +++++K" thread only to get trolled or mislead?
Hi, Applejuice here. With so many of us either in college, recently graduated, or getting ready to attend, I thought it might be nice to have an area dedicated solely to school.
I'm typing this as I sit here, desperately trying to find a step-by-step explanation of a problem on my Calc homework. After clicking on the "Talk to a Tutor" button, I was immediately asked to enter my card information and notified that it would cost $.50/minute to work with a tutor. Not cool. So immediately I logged on to NS.
This is my vision.
NS TUTORING:
1. Cult > Thread - Will allow Cult Master to limit access and moderate members without relying on a green or red name.
2. Stickied Threads: Restricted to a) Introduction Thread for Tutors b) Quick Reference Guides and Helpful Tools c) Textbook BST d) Private Tutoring Requests
3. Open Threads: general homework help and discussions
One of my major goals for 2016 is to be a mentor or to positively impact someone's life. Even if it's as simple as helping them understand their homework.
PS: This may have been done before, but I did a quick forum search and didn't find anything. Or lots of old threads/cults that are no longer used. If I'm still out of the loop, please feel free to delete.
