IMO, the borders were closed because America is starkly against Communism, among other reasons of course. How come Obama is giving the Cuban Govt. opportunity to profit by easing trading, immigration, and business regulations, without demanding a change in Cuba's Communistic system?

I'm all for helping the citizens of Cuba who have been oppressed for decades, but if the system isnt changed, how are the citizens going to benefit?

Here's an article explaining how for many Cubans, they see the warming relations as a chance to ESCAPE Cuba and come to America. That seems very backwards, because clearly the situation in Cuba is not improving for the citizens.

The question to me is when will our government even be able to demand a change in Cuba's? Immigrants from Cuba have been coming here for decades, its only now, with this whole thing, that there is tons of talk among American politicians about revoking the current law stating that Cubans, if they make it to America they can stay. Just fucking skim the govt website man.
