herrrro everybody. so ive recently started making a website for my senior thesis final project and i downloaded cs5 on my computer thinking having the best version would be, well, the best. (yea i know theres cs7 but it was impossible to find a torrent for it)

anyways, when i went to present my work in progress on the schools computers, which only run cs3, i was able to open the .swf file fine but i couldnt open the .fla in cs3. well duh, i know that because its an older version that it might not run it. so my question is, is there a way to export my cs5 files to cs3 files through flash or another converter? and if not, am i totally screwed and have to start over?

thanks a bunch!

buy webspace, post up your website and get it online, then view it in a browser.

i would, however its for a class and my professor wont accept it in any form other then flash cs3.

I think you're SOL. Flash CS5 is backwards compatabile with CS4 but not CS3. Tell your professor to upgrade from such antiquated software.

yea its really annoying. but, i was going to try and save my files as a cs4 .fla and see if thats compatible with cs3. if it doesnt work, shitttt.

now to download cs3..

they made some major changes to how the fla files compile between cs3 and cs5. Probably a verrrrry long shot, but try copying frames from cs5 and pasting them in cs3. I highly doubt this will work, especially if you used any of the newer tween features.

im not really familiar with cs3 or cs5 still repping Macromedia Flash MX!

but is there not an option where you can save to a compatible mode...probably not because it seems so obvious so it doesn't really seem like a question

yea....our whole JO department is a bit behind the curve technology wise. its really frustrating.

does anyone know or think that if i save them as cs4 files i MIGHT be able to open them in cs3? or even publishing them to a page? ehhhh

First of all CS7 does not exist. Photoshop7 is what is it and it is not up to par with anything these days.

If you can build whatever in CS4 then you can save it as a CS3 format. there is no way around it. none. Adobe or anyone for that matter makes a converter. there is nothing else todo.

fuckkkkk. yea, i now know this. welp, i tried saving them as cs4 files, no worky.

downloading cs3 asap, hopefully my pshop files for cs5 might still work in cs3? holy shit i hope so.
