Crystal 2017

Only time Crystal has ever been worth the money is in the middle of May when it's $25/day to lap Green Valley and Rowen is carrying an 8" spliff in his jacket.

Agreed. Also I will probably make it to Crystal at some point this season since some of my coworkers ride there.

Crystal sucks. Imma ride out the season in the BC, lookin for peeps to shred some proper lines these next few weeks.

Chair 6 is closed, so I'm out as well.

Same goes for the BC stuff. Might tatoosh it up tomorrow

I hate to say this but I may have to boycott stevens this year and get a crystal pass.

If an activity is defined by what you do the majority of the time spent doing it, I'm over spending a weekend at Stevens waiting in line. I honestly dont expect crystal to be much different, but if the waiting is all the same, at least theres bigger terrain there.

I'm thinking about getting a crystal pass, too. I still haven't skied Stevens much, mostly because I was in Tacoma 4 of the last 5 winters, but the traffic and crowds made it feel like summit county/i70. I hate i70.

Only weekend days I had off this year were Sundays, and the times I actually I made it to Stevens, I did the 12-6pm mission so I could get into the upper lot. Someone on this site has a quote in their sig that says something like "Colorado is pretty cool, except for all the people who go there because it's cool". That is what is now happening in the Seattle area, except these people have all moved here. There's a reason Brad and I are looking to move to the Wenatchee Valley this fall. It's not just Stevens. Crystal turned people away several days this year, and they have an absolutely fucked amount of parking. Alpy lines were haggard too most days I was there.

I see touring as the only solution on pow days. The backcountry is heating up too, but there are two things working in our favor: most of those people don't ski the more rowdy stuff; and the terrain here means that there is cool shit hiding in the woods everywhere, so even when avy conditions are fuxed, a quick skin from many roads will get you to some mini golf lines.

Have fun with that.

only days on a lift this years were at Mission Ridge or Mt. Hood. Glad I didn't have to contend with lines of real magnitude during my season. I like Seattle but I think i'll eventually be move back to Wenatchee at some point also

Supposedly things are looking up, but it's still up in the air. They're holding it off for now.

On another note, Stevens raised their daily ticket rates like 15 bucks, which should cut down on all of the overcrowding up there, atleast a little bit.

Anyone know of a place to park a trailer in Greenwater?

I would trade 2-3 new pairs of skis for a season spot. (I have access to super cheap skis)

Tell your friends.
