Crowd fund an F1 team for the last race of the season.

Even if they get funded, they're not gonna have any permanence in the sport. Look at their results. They haven't scored a single point in the constructors championship since they entered in 2012. Fund them and get whatever, but don't expect your money to go towards anything of long-term use.

I love how they're basically selling off parts of there car so they can do one final race.

I want them to succeed, but even at a mere £300 for an exhaust manifold I'm not gonna chip in.

It does really highlight how ridiculous the sport is, they need £2.3M just for a single race. I love it. The loss of a few small teams, unfortunate as it is, hardly change most of the sport. In fact it might help, way too many races this year have had early safety cars because someone from the lower teams qualified well then crashed on turn 1.

F1 is as much a game of science and engineering than it is a sport, it's one of very few popular things that are actually pushing boundaries. The money involved is just free market economics, unless the teams are racking up debts it's all good.

Here's how I see F1 working

Somebody invents a new technology to make the cars faster.

New rule bans said technology for being too fast.

Team talks to engineers/science people.

Circumvent rules with science.

Speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed
