I know there are some NSers who run. Ii have been seeing only foot ball threads so i decided to make one for us. how good are your teams on a regular basis and what state are you in im in colorado and if your in colorado message me and tell me what division your in in case we race ever.

Preseason started today... I definitely should have ran more.
In New Hampshire, my team is going to do some damage.

i know i really should have ran practice is tonight and im pretty fucked. but our team goes and runs in state every year we get like 10th each year

My preseason officially started today. Unfortunately I won't be able to run or preform my duties as senior captain for the beginning of the season because of school and mentally related stuff that I have to deal with first. Man I've never been more pumped in my life when I was named co-captain last year, so it's kind of a bummer that I didn't start out with the team today.

I run for SUNY Cortland. We were DIII national champions 2 years ago, but we've got a bit of a rebuilding season ahead of us this year. We're hoping to get another trip back to Nats this year, but nothing is guaranteed anymore. It'll be exciting though, because our top 7 could be anybody this year. As much as I love putting in the miles over summer, I cannot wait for cross this year.

What are everybody's goals for the upcoming season?

Team wise I hope that we place respectably at our conference championships, and qualify for nationals.

Personally, I'm hope to run 25:40 8k this year.

You guys?

this for sure.

I'm in New Jersey. Practice starts in a week on monday. Our team should be pretty beast this year.

Goal: 17:30 5k

ran for 4 years in high school and was a captain. Truthfully i was never great at it, but i wasn't the fat kid who finished 20 minutes after everyone else. Overall xc was probably my favorite HS sport. Felt great not going home and being a lazy bastard.

I could go under 20 for 5k on hills but speed wasn't my best thing. I just failed to die. I probably could have done work when I was little though. Ran the mile under 7 in 3rd grade. Then I just never got faster. Never broke 6. The longer the race the better my chances of doing good. 10ks and up I did pretty well because I didn't die till after the race Then I would collapse in a sad heap and spit that super slimey shit that you can't shake off. Like where you could probably hit the ground from the second story windo and suck it all the way back up.

I wish I could still run. In decent shape looks wise, but I don't run more than a mile ever anymore.

Good luck this season, do work. Oh yeah, and always remember your spandex. Some of the smaller kids on the team had to rock girls uniforms cause the xc team hadn't happend at our school for like 10 years. My buddy forgot spandex, and went freeballing in short shorts. He was winning for most of the race too, people in the crowd probably got some sweet internet worthy pics.

COOL STORY HANSEL

My team took second at state last year.I think we can win this year we didn't lose that much.I'm going to try and go sub 15 on a 3 mile this year.Anyone here run at wood bridge or live in nevada? And I didn't know skiers ran I just thought they smoked ;)

this is the truth.
I ran all through HS, and went to Bryant University (D1) on a XC and track scholarship. I've recently transferred to Principia College near St. Louis. Preseason starts in a few days, going to be righteous.
And for those of you who say XC > Track, I disagree (and no, Im not a sprinter).

BTW, there is a runner's cult on here, and Im pretty sure it's as dead as Abe Lincoln. Might be worth checking out?

going into my senior year, fourth year doing cross country but i'm still not at the level i hoped id be at. i run in connecticut and this year im shooting for a sub 17:30 5k

Congrats on being the captain, I always took you for the sit on NS all summer and turn to jelly kinda guy but I may have been wrong about you.

4th year of XC for me here in Maine. Would like to run sub 19 this year. My PR now is 20:07 but I've put in some decent summer work.

DCXC!!! Were the best of friends. run for life!!!!!!

pshhhhh you guys arent THAT good. I know a few kids on yo team who are dece but no one is amazing. And last year Ashi got RAPED every race by my main man at Niwot.

I run at Niwot in CO, we have 5 guys thatll prolly go under 17. Three or so of us will hopefully be sub 1630. But after that we got nobody. So if anyone gets injured we are fucked. Im hoping to run 1620ish.

im doing XC for my third year. its good cause i get jacked and tanned, + i get to hit on girls all day, but when it comes to the 10 minute mark in 5K races, i just start to hate my life and think of doing dub corks in slo-mo over and over again until i finish the race.

thought itd be cool to bump this to see how your guys' teams are doing. im getting closer to my goal of 17:30, I PR'd the other day with a 17:48 5k

this is my 2nd xc year. my PR 5k this year is an 18:49. out team is decent. we have a kid on our team who has run a 16:38, but i think he can do far better. i'm from WA.

Wisconsin. this is my fourth year doing cross country, i am now a junior. my team made it to state my freshman year...no big deal. but now my team sucks.

Our school is dirty at running. We went undefeated in 06' 07' 08' won western mass two of those times lost once last year and only one loss this year. I dont do cross country because of soccer, but I do track and were also nasty at that. Undefeated the same years as cross country with one loss last year and I doubt we get a loss this year and hopefully with that undefeated title a Western Mass championship.

I ran freshman and sophomore year and had a IT band injury late in my sophomore year. I took junior year off and got into Cyclocross and wasnt going to run senior year untill I herd that my team wasnt going to make it to state for the first year in like 8 years because they didnt have a 5th man. So I came out of retirement and decided to run.

I am so out of shape. As a sophomore I had my PR of 17:38 and my last race 2 weeks ago was a 18:30.. I wish I would have kept at it because I could have led our team this year adn really helped them. But I am here to get our team to state, I forgot how rad XC was untill I started running again..
