so many people around here crochet. my friend and I learned how to knit, it's newschool. But there are so many little guide books on how to Crochet. Just look on the internet too.

obviously we can find directions on the internet on how to knit, fuck anyone could have told us that, however i'm not so sure that its going to be simple to find directions on how to knitafy g steezed ski hats? eh? wouldn't you say?

I taught myself how to knit off the net, but that shits hard to larn how to read the patterns and the sort. It never actually says like how ou should go about making a round, cone shaped object, so i made my own pattern. I just casted on about 6 inches worth of stitches, then each row i knitted, i would cast a new stitch onto the end of it until it was about 10 inches tall. with one side sloped up and the bottom side flat then continue to cast off a stitch every time you make a new row, until you become even with the starting point. then do this about 6 times. So you end up with a flat piece of material with a flat brim on the bottom, that always stays the same. Then on top you have about 6 triangles. the fold the hat over and stitch with a yarn needle and the same yarn, stitch the 2 ends togeter to like make a round tube. then fold each triangle in and they should all meet in the middle. Stitch there sides together, and flip it inside out when all done and there you go. This makes a regular beanie, but to make ear flaps just cast on more stitches on the brim as you go along on your next hat. Same technique as adding to make the triangles. But this is tough to manage the distance and you need long needles to accomodate for having so many stitches on at once.
