Critque my first draft

Looking for lots of feedback on my first Football Reel rough draft, no color grading or anything yet, mainly worried about pacing and that it isn't overbearing to the eyes.

Feel free to give me your worst

I thought this was super dope!

Just two thoughts:

-Maybe have more breaks between the action, things like celebrations/ highfives/ fans cheering. I've done a few highlight videos of basketball and found it can become dulling/ overwhelming to just have clip after clip of sports.

-Could also try to have more intentional cuts, ex: if the camera is following someone left, the next cut is following someone running left or also panning left. This makes the viewers eyes work less and everything flows smoothly.

Thanks man, appreciate it!!

I am working on breaking up some of the action, just because like you said it can be a little much so I am going through to cut out a little more. Also still trying to be more intentional throughout with the edit. Hopefully will have something solid pretty soon with all the feedback I get.

It looks great so far. Definitely try to time your clips to the music, so when the music is slower you can show fans cheering, shots of the field or something like that and then when the song gets upbeat use some action shots. That will keep people more intrigued and it will be less repetitive. I know that's a pretty obvious tip but I think it will take your video to the next level.

Looks pretty good overall! Thought the content was killer.

Like others said, maybe use some slow motion/ speed ramps/ quick cuts to emphasize certain clips.

For the intro, the buildup in the music is pretty good, maybe try adding more clips that cut quicker as the beat picks up until that clip of the guy getting hit, that way people are forced to kind of pay attention at the beginning and don't get bored.

The only other thing would be throw in some more clips of people/fans/close ups to break up the action.

Great job though, looking forward to see the final video!

This is dope as fuck! The only critiques I would make are to mess around with speed ramping like making one clip start fast then slow. Also add LOTS of sound effects for every hit, tackle, catch etc. add more sounds of the crowd cheering or sideline yelling. Audio can really make or break a video. The camera shots are dope and cinematic and smooth and you have potentially a hell of a video.

Appreciate all the feedback so far!

This is still pretty rough, i.e. haven't messed with audio and working on what can be cut out and replaced. I try to work on it every night after work but its a struggle since I am usually editing all day and don't really want to edit when I get home hahahah.
