Hi there. this is just a short edit that i made of my friends and i up grouse mountain on a little kicker the other day. This is just my first edit so any input is much appreciated. i know we have a lot of stuff to work on. thank you very muchRyan Grouse jump sesh from Ryan Foxall on Vimeo./static/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

Well you guys definitely have ability, since those were some pretty advanced tricks that you were pullingAs far as the editing goes, I would recommend not reusing music from other ski videos (that song was from a video of sammy carlsons triple cork i think)I liked the use of the helmet cam in addition to the normal camera, maybe you want to film from a different angle to add more variety (just a thought). But all in all, the skiing was great, and it was a good and entertaining edit.Good luck with your future edits and keep shredding!

ok thanks man. i will definitely keep that stuff in mind. i will try and find some more original music next time. i totally forgot that was from that video. i was just going through my music and though it might be allright. haha. but thanks very much man. much appreciated.

yeah thissongissick.com has some great music that hasn't been used (you might have already heard of it)that is where i have been getting all of my new music lately

well said.
also man just watch more edits and look around at programs and such. you just want to get your style in editing and what you like. theres ppl who do sick editing with a lot goin on to dubstep or super mellow to rap its just whatever you like.
and just try to find sick songs.
overall sick work and good skiing. hoping to see some sick edits in the future

Try and mix it up with different shots.

Also the best tool in editing is good footage because thats where it starts.

allright thanks man. thats great. And just as a place to start. do you have any recommendations for editing programs. i just used imovie which kinda sucks but i mean it gets the job done i guess. i just used it to get the feel for editing and stuff. but yah any inputs much appreciated. thanks again

o ok ok yah i'll mix it up a little. i know it stayed pretty much the same. we were just kinda rotating on the filming so i guess everyone did the same thing.

well i use final cut express cuz i didnt want to go all in for pro but either way itll be about 200$ for express 999$ for studio (new pro). I mean in the future its good to buy one but for just starting unless your sssuuuppppeeeerrrrr into it just go with i movie. its a good program to start on and fuck what ppl say.

i have also heard of ppl torrenting adobe after effects but idk anything about torrenting or the program.
hope that helps a little

yah that helps forsure. thanks. yah i thought i movie seem sufficient but everyone always trashes it so much. whatever. good enough for now

I wouldn't worry about the editing program, you can actually learn a lot with iMovie and it wouldn't do you any good to get a more sophisticated program if you aren't kick ass at the basics yet. You need to work on the footage, the quality was pretty poor and all it takes is some practice to drastically improve what you pull out of your camera.
I'm not a pro at this stuff, but that's my 2 cents.

here's embed

Real sick skiing if you ask me, when the ski tips caught in the snow i cringed a little haha.

thanks man. yah we had a couple tip catches but it didn't hurt really. like it was nice'n soft so its all good. and thanks for embeding it. i couldn't figure that out yet
