Critique K+ for legitimate feedback

Been shooting shots over this past season, with a large break in the middle after my camera got wrecked and had to be repaired. Let me know what you like, and what could be improved!

Thanks man, song was from a local here that was pretty stoked about someone using it so I decided to give it a go!

yeah i reckon also there was a couple shots where the skiier looked rush in his switch ups and shit, and i reckon have the song "drop" and the skiing start at the same time, it just looks more profesional and if you don't have enough standing around or stock footage to use, i reckon have like littne snipets of you sliding a rail, online like 1 second snippet it, or like black and white footage of a butter or going down the knuckle, it just makes it look more profesional and funner to watch

A good amount of your clips were a bit too long. Cut them while the skier is still skiing away straight - not after he stops or begins to turn away.

That was decent. Coulda cut away some clips earlier but whatever. What was this shot with?

Not a bad edit. A lot of good stuff in this one. Also; keep the fonts in the beginning. It's rare to see such a clean approach. A well selected and well used font.

Improvements?

Segments could help

It's very hard to keep track of who's doing what.

Maybe it wasn't the purpose of this edit, but in my opinion, dividing it into segments where each skier have the space to do his thing, would make it easier to follow. Yes, one at a time.

Variation of camera angles:

Filming is more or less done from one angle and one distance. It's like you're having a follow-cam guy in tow. You could keep a lot of the existing footage but… What would happen if you had the camera on the ground at the end of a rail? What if you shot the kickers from the landing side?

We are basically seeing a lot of backs going over rails and jumps.

A few more angles and camera positions wouldn't hurt. Even when there's a static shot of a skier going over a rail, it feels refreshing.

In short:

Variation would make a good edit great. Plus, I liked the music. But you'll get as many opinions on music as there are viewers. Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Awesome, thanks man. I am working on a much longer video for the end of the season where everyone is divided into segments, dropped this one more to get something out there since my camera had been down most of the season. I'll try and take the suggestion about new angles though! Cheers!
