I hit crested butte last year the week before xmas. while i was there north face and high lift were closed.

im wondering if anyone knows the ussual time those lifts open for the season. im going back there week before xmas again this year and hope they're open. last year seemed like the snow was delayed for a bit till the end of the season.
 
Last year should never be used as a reference to what crested butte is. The snow was terrible, as it was everywhere else in the western us.  Anyways, on a good year the high lift and north face will open by Christmas.  It all depends on the snowfall and trust me, our ski patrol isnt worried about anyone hitting rocks- they will open it as soon as it is possible for the best skiers to get down it.  Hope you get to shred it - you will never forget it.

butte backcounry is some of my most favorite skiing to date!

when the snows good, the skiing is unbelievable.

and yea i dunno wtf was up last year....the snow sucked ass!!!!
