And as far as I'm concerned, I was generally correct with my statement, maybe not the majority of them are multinationals, but ~20% is.

If you show a live video like the one shown where you see people literally being blown up, it's all awful and who could do that. Why is it whenever we bomb cities none of that footage goes public, only footage from a distance? It's because the U.S. kills people the same way, people just can't stomach the truth

Allahu Akbar, you guys are dumb (translation for dense people "Jesus Christ, you guys are dumb"). Skiierman is right for the most part, but then again, dude... you're going on an attack spree. You won. Lassez-Faire and square.

Either way.. None of you really know fuck all of what's going on over there. Syria isn't exactly ill-equipped with military might. They've been going toe-toe against the likes of Israel since the Nazis fell from power. Sure they've had their ass handed to them, but they aren't exactly some push-over country.

They have tons of the same stuff the Russians and formerly, Soviets came up with to take America on. They aren't exactly shitty, at least by the standards of most of the world. They have Mig-29's... which when fully equipped can play around with F-15's, and they have a crapload of assorted conventional weaponry, as well as chemical shit, which we know all too much about now.

The Rebels are fighting a tough war right now. Hundreds of thousands have died and millions been displaced. It's a shite state of affairs over there, and the question of whether we should be involved or not is a quandary that nobody can really answer with direct morality.

War in the era of youtube and facebook is too real. Id like to go back to hating a nameless demon worshiping group of oil rich fascists than face the fact that real people are being killed fighting for their lives while i sit on a skiing forum.
 
Your mention of their military capability really points to all the wrong places (for example, who doesn't have MiG-29's?) but I agree with the last point. A civil war is not something in which I'd be interested in picking a side. It would be difficult to justify supporting either side. The only situation in which I could possibly see a justified response to anything happening in Syria would be a strike specifically aimed as punishment for Assad using chemical weapons, and obviously there is much debate as to whether or not that is warranted.

I'd be very surprised and confused if the US decided to do anything more than that.
 
It's exactly the same thing as the Christian God or the Jewish God or the god of any Abrahamic/Isaacian based religion. That's a theological fact. Doesn't matter what they call it. It's literally the same thing (and there are a bazillion different translations depending on what country and what area you live in within the Arab world... you can't generalize that language)

I was pointing that out based on the surprise that people had when seeing Syria's military actually is capable. I mean, somebody on page one, mentioned them as a 3rd world country. I'd hardly call them that if you point to their military outfits (and as far as Mig-29's go, they have more modern versions of the aircraft than most nations. You put Syrian Migs against North Korean Migs, and it's pretty easy to figure out who's going to come out on top - regardless of the pilots) and their fairly average GDP. They have lower poverty rates than a lot of places in the region.

Regardless. Punishing Assad for chem weapons is a tough call, seeing as the states did not punish Saddam for his own use of Sarin against Iran (because well.. we were on Iraq's side at that time) and merely condemned his use against 'his own people' (if you want to call Iraqi Kurds part of the same realm based on horribly placed colonial geographic borders - Thanks again, Britain). Basically, the shoe is on the other foot this time with Russia backing Assad, so nothing concrete or constructive should come of this whole thing.

 
I understand, I guess it would have been more clear for me to say that their possession of a 4th generation air to air fighter concerns me much less than other threats. Especially considering the F-22's would likely have the shrink wrap removed if we went into Syria for any reason. That fight would be a joke.
 
I doubt they'd even need to do that. We have no real beef with Assad other than the fact that his army has used chem weapons. Other than that, there's not a whole lot of reason for us to be involved - which is why we haven't thrown ourselves into the fight any time within the last year or more.
 
Considering the world's natural resources are said to be able to sustain a global population of 4 billion, and we have 7, I would have to agree.
 
Well a few things are clear to me in this video.
1. It's pretty common knowledge we've had SF units and special groups training rebels in Jordan. This group clearly wasn't.
2. Pretty sure they haven't gotten that good old weapons shipment either.
3. Nice shot.
 
Not that this is related in any way, but you may know Dustin. I noticed today that there were a high number of fighter jets in the Springs. Probably atleast 10-15 throughout the course of the day. Also noticed several blackhawks (thought they may be for the floods) but they were going from Carson over towards Cheyenne mtn over and over.
Seemed like a training exercise of some type.
 
I honestly couldn't tell you. Maybe the Buckley guys are going south if emergency aircraft helping with the flooding are using their normal airspace? Or it could be a CAS exercise of sorts with the Carson guys. All speculation.
 
That is more than a year old. Raptors fly every day, and I know the guys flying them have no problem with it.

The U.S. Air Force has a message for Iran: Don’t mess with our drones.

In what only can be described as a scene out of Tom Cruise’s “Top Gun,” Gen. Mark A. Welsh III, Air Force chief of staff, describes how F-22 stealth jets scared off Iranian jets from a U.S. drone flying in international airspace.

The Aviationist reports that in March a U.S. MQ-1 drone came close to being intercepted by an Iranian F-4 Phantom combat plane, but the Iranian aircraft stopped short after a warning by an American pilot.

“He [the Raptor pilot] flew under their aircraft [the F-4s] to check out their weapons load without them knowing that he was there, and then pulled up on their left wing and then called them and said ‘you really ought to go home,’” Gen. Welsh said.

According to The Aviationist, the Iranians came within 16 miles of the drone.
