Crazy Tornado footage

Shit, that dude was in complete shock. Kinda strange how high pitched it was when it was blowing over. Fucking crazy

Holy crap. Everything was gone. Unreal, I don't know what I would do if that happened to me. But I wouldn't be wearing sandals.

I hope you realize nothing is going to stop a tornado from destroying anything, regardless on how it was constructed

As a father, he did a great job of being the "strong" one so that his daughter didn't unnecessarily freak out and start crying... yup he did a good job...

dude, there is absolutely NOTHING you can do to tornado proof a structure. especially an F4 tornado. that's fucking huge.

this is about and hour and a half from me. this storm passed through my area as well, but no tornados. it was fucking gnar tho. it's crazy how destructive it was once it finally popped off. people are finding debris, ie pictures, etc, 2-3 hours away from where the tornado hit.

one thing i don't understand...i was listening to a victim being interviewed on the radio yesterday and she said her house was completely destroyed, but in what used to be her bathroom her garbage can was still sitting in the same position completely undisturbed...tissues, qtips, etc still sitting right on top where they were. how does everything else around it get demolished but something as light as a bathroom garbage can remain un-touched.

double post, but check this video out...a security camera captures a house just being swept away.

a couple of chasers caught this angle...kind of gives perspective to the size.

and the after math...

I'm about an hour and a half northeast of there. The same cell that this tornado came from went straight northeast and touched down another tornado again a mile from my house and ripped through my hometown. Granted, it wasn't as bad as Washington, IL.

My friend's barn got destroyed and his house suffered some damage. I remember going over to his house and climbing that pile of hay bales there when I was a kid. Crazy shit.

wow that dude is patient, and kinda silly.I woulda gotten out of the house as soon as it was over.

And woulda fucking dragged Josie's crying ass out becaus eobviously she couldn't think straight anymore.

Is there some sort of home owners insurance for something like this in the mid west? Never lived in a area where your house was potentially going to get pwned by a tornado, mudslides, forest fires, or anything that crazy. Worst thing that's happened was lightning strikes.

dont you think that if there was a way to build a house impermeable to tornadoes they would have started building them a LONG time ago?

Yeah but you'd have to pay so much for the coverage that in nearly all cases it's not worth it.. Insurance companies are a business, they aren't charities, they would hedge their bets well.

People live in the midwest because the land is cheap and they farm. IE they dont have the money to build steel and brick houses. They are fly over states for a reason.

If they can build a car that can survive a tornado, they can build a house that can. The trouble is making it financially viable.

bathrooms are the toughest part of the house because of the pipes. in a fire the bathroom/piping area of the house will stay up
