Craigslist Joe

Well its another Saturday night without skiing. I was looking around Netflix and found a movie called Craigslist Joe. Basically a guy tries to live off craigslist for a month. Relying on people to hook him up with a place to sleep, food, and rides. Seems like it'd be pretty sweet to try out over a summer.

Heres a trailer:

Thanks op, this looks awesome, gonna check it out.

What I think would be the coolest thing ever(and what I might actually do if I lived in the us) is a newschoolers version, you're far more likely to be able to get rooms with people, cause you've got something in common, + they might know you from on here.

Don't do it simply to rely on other people. Give and take. Don't take if you don't need.

You can def cross the country easily with simple people skills but if you have something to give the people along the way or can help them somehow do it.

There are plenty of people that will help you regardless but try to give something back unless there's literally nothing you have to offer the situation. Also if somebody helps you out remember that in the future, if you see somebody out hitching, somebody that needs a place to stay etc.

Also be respectful. IT only takes a few douchebags to ruin it for everyone. Good luck and have fun!

Saw it a while back, pretty awesome documentary. I thought it was cool how people were so willing to help

I've used NS quite a bit for travel. I've gotten rides/driven people from here, stayed on a few couches, had people stay on mine... Even in France I found an NSer to let me sleep at his place for 3 days during If3.

I pretty much plan to travel around in Europe for a Month next winter by staying at NS'ers places and skiing with them. I've already gotten 2 invites + 2 other people I have actually met because of NS. So I'm now at 4 of at least 7 places I want to stay during my travels.

before the whole olympics thing, I was considering getting the mountain collective pass and doing something like this. Maybe next year.
