Craig's chronics

So I just bought some 2015 chronics off craigs list without bindings for 120. They have some obvious top sheet damage, but upon further inspection, there are cracks in the edges, up to two on each side....did I get boned?

you bought used park skis in person and you didn't inspect the edges? haha what

No I knew they were gonna be a little fucked, and it was night, and they were cheap, and they were needed because I dont want to fuck up a different ski.

I am more interested in how long it takes for the edge to rip out...

Itll take about as long as it takes for you to hit a rock/branch

Is there any way I can give em some more anything to make it so that doesn't happen?

not really unless you get your edges replaced in which case they still wont be perfect

Sounds like you bought yourself some soon to be urban condition skis. Id dedicate these to urban/summer pretty soon and mount them with some cheap bindings and get a new setup. Really depends on how much you ski though the season though

I ski about twice a week at hood. I just bought new skis which is why I wanted beaters...these are a little more beeted then I thought though haha

Oh yeah for sure my fault for not checking well enough.

I can often be found beating my meat so its not anything new...

Are cracked edges truly that touchy? They are just hairline cracks. At first I had to look around to make sure it wasn't a manufacturing deal (like thats where the loop of edge ended/started). Like if I hit a branch or rock or something will they just rip out?

No not likely. It will be from hitting rails over time, but it could get significantly worse more on one day than another, so check on them. Also detune around the area will help, not sure if they still need a little detune or not.

I've ridden skis with edge cracks for months without the edges falling off. Even when the edges do rip out a bit, they're park skis, who cares? They should last for another month after a little edge rips out. I'd say that's a good deal
