CR Tall Tee Day

Do it however you want. It doesn't matter. But I just thought some mass/semi-organized thing would be pretty cool. But seriously comon newschoolers. Not all of you are hipsters.

Cr never wore a tall tee. How is wearing one on the day of his death paying respects to him in any way. its almost a mockery of the guy.
Just skiing and having a great time no matter what the conditions is respect enough.

Exactly what my brother said. But you know what? i don't care. I just thought that a mass event would be kind of cool and a good way to represent the freeski community is with tall tees. You have an opinion and I respect that but take it elsewhere.

why would you post it here then. obviously your going to get opinions, and why tall tee's? there's gotta be other things that better represent the skiing community

I think CR would turn over in his grave if he was aware of kids thinking wearing tall t's (which he never wore) was a proper way of paying respect to him.

Just go out and have fun. That's all he'd want.

Exactly! Like even just skiing, I bet CR would smile down on us plenty if we are all out on the slopes for him. But, if you want to do something with shirts, instead of tall tee's why not just the cheap white tees that everyone can afford, and just write "CR", "In Memory of CR" or whatever you want to commemorate him with on the white tee.

I dont know what CR would think about this, but if you really want to do something at all to respect the man, whatever way it is, first contact his family before you use his name..

Wait...If your predisposed to wear a tall-t anyway, then what is so special about wearing it on a certain day? It's like me wearing shoes on September 11th.

You guys are all missing the point. I understand that you want to do something to honor someone who inspired you, I really do, he was just as inspiring to me as he was to you. Although I would say he meant more to me than he ever could to you, this can be explained by me saying that you wouldn’t understand. This is coming from someone who knew him, even though i only lived with him for 2 weeks in the spring of 09 and saw him once after that in September. I have anecdotes about him that I don’t want to put internet and it is one way I keep his memory. You guys have all seen Seven Sunny Days, Every Day is a Saturday, and Like a lion. Those movies convey him extremely well and that is how most of you probably got inspired by him. When someone great dies, it is always hard for the people who knew him to understand how the people who didn’t know him were inspired so much by him. It feels cheap and not the same. It shouldn’t feel this way but it does, because I doubt that someone who didn't know him could actually feel as sincere as I do or could be inspired by him as much. People like Tanner or people who knew him better than me probably think that i'm full of shit, this takes perfect sense to me.

If you really want to do something to honor CR, go do something good, and don’t just do something good, be good. That is what CR wanted. Sure there is a who am I to say this factor after telling you guys you don’t get it but honoring an inspiration is more than just wearing a tall t. I’m not hating if you do, do it if that is what will remind you of him. Being inspired by CR is a great thing. What I am disgusted by is arguing about if CR would like this because that doesn’t honor him at all.

I think this is an idea that could be something good. If we're gonna wear a tee, it should have this on it:
"Ski In PeaceHis pictureCharles Russel Johnson10/08/1983 - 02/24/2010"
on the back, and then one of his inspiring quotes on the front. Or vice-versa, I don't know.
Maybe Inspired should do this? Sell them and then donate the money to his foundation?

Oh, and I forgot.
When wearing this tee (in other cases too ofc) we should be doing good, be good to people and of course shredd and enjoy life.
I think he would have liked that.

mostly true but still, don't bring that hate here. we're all skiers.

i wish someobdy broughts up the idea of making shirts and donating the profits weeks ago since the aniversery is in 4 days. i would've been down to make shirts and sell them but i guess it's never too late. might not be in time for the aniversery but would anybody be interested if i had a friend make shirts?
