CR Charity Idea....

This is just an Idea - so i'm not quite sure how it would work out etc so don't flame me! but maybe NS could sell a wristband or something in memory of CR, and donate the proceeds to the Brain Injury Association of America or some other charity that works with sufferers of brain injurys or spinal injuries?

It just seems that his death has had a massive effect on the community of NS and maybe this is an opportunity for people to honour his memory and rock some kind of tribute and at the same time raise some cash, no matter how small for a worthy cause? I've done no research into this, it was just a thought, but i'm presuming that during his original recovery, he recieved a lot of help and support from a traumatic brain injury charity? Feel free to discuss....

 
I like this idea, but instead of a lame wristband an in memory of CR Johnson tee or something cool like that?

 
you can do all kinds of stuff. Stickers for skis and windows and whatever else. T shirts, Patches to put on your ski outerwear beanies, Pin with his picture, lanyurd, bumper sticker, hat, posters, I mean anything really.
 
Yeah I think I had the whole livestrong thing in mind.... But it would be cool to collectively, as newschoolers and with the ns logo included, support a brain injury charity as the NS CR fund or something for kids injured in skiing, brain/spine injuries or something... Obv it's very rusty and needs some thought/research...
 
I would definitly buy a tee. Maybe like a collection of his quotes scattered throughout the shirt, with the NS logo on the back??
 
Yeah or just his "famous" quote about worth dieing for on the newschoolers "add your own" quote t?
 
How about a few options? Like t-shirt, wristband and stickers? T-shirt would be the most expensive and give the biggest donation, with stickers and wristbands being a lower cost. This way more people are likely to buy one and you have different ways to show your love for CR.
 
Well I guess we need to hear what the NS guys think who run the site and store, then find out what, if any, brain trauma charity was involved, no matter how indirectly, with CR and then work the collaboration... Bring some good in CRs name and make sure a legacy remains from this site.

This just seemed like a good idea to me, but ultimately it's up to the site guys if they can run with it....?
 
I remember when McConkey passed away someone was making dog tags, with proceeds going to a fund. The same would be good to see set up for CR's family. Dogtags would also remind people of (his badass) WSKI106 part. Name on front, quote on back. You can use the small one as a key-chain too. Something good to remind people about what CR did, and with proceeds going to wherever they are needed. (be it his family or charities)

 
I would love a shirt with his quote on it.... please make this happen NS. It would be sick to give the profits to standstrongagain.org
 
We should do a collab with KP and CR, and give the proceeds to the pierce family

A Huge "I love (heart) CR" Tall tee.... white (like the I heart NYC one) with the NS logo on the bottom left/right.... like the standard NS tall tee's....

then maybe rocking the Stand Strong Again.org logo somewhere too..... ?

 
All of these ideas are great. I would buy a shirt (preferably long sleeve), definitely stickers, anything. If anyone has stickers and wants to sell/give some to me, I will buy/take.
 
Glad everyone is stoked on this- I'm sure im not the only one who thought of this.

It's such a tragedy- we as a collective need to try and keep cr's name alive and try achieve some good from this.

The whole situation surrounding cr to me is so much more hard to deal with then shane's and It freaks me out because this could of been me, and CR was a million times better a skiied then me. This happened within view of a lift.... In bounds... Shane was out on the edge, and all that makes this accident so tragic.... I'm sure you all feel the same and are simply trying to understand why and how this could of happened. Base jumping is base jumping, but this... Well this could of happened to any of us.... Crazy hard to deal with.
 
Just a plain white tee with a really good photo of CR on the front and a quote under it would be awesome. If we're going to make a memorial T for CR it should celebrate the way he lived.
 
Just like the Livestrong bands but in rasta (R.I.P. CR Johnson), i'd buy so many of those. Give them to friends and such. Good idea. NS hierarchy get on this pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee
 
not really charity but feel free to download and use my icon. I can make other ones too, just pm me. I'll only do CR related ones though for now.

solid idea. i personally don't like shirts with text; i'd definitely buy something with his face on it.

they also were making ingraved off-brand Zipo type lighters. i got one of each, and they are amazingly sick. I think a lot of people would buy a lighter like that, like I did, with an ingraving of him on one side, and a quote on the other. McConkey's had him with a saucer on the front, and "Nothing better than sliding down snow, flying through the air" The problem with that is you need to find a talented artist who owns and ingraving machine, who is willing to volunteer their time and energy.

I like all the other ideas too
