Which brings up possibly the most controversial topic ever. When the human population becomes to great for the world to support what will happen? Personally I think the U.S will have to close all borders to ordinary immigrants and regulate pregnancies within our borders.

You may call me crazy, but in 50 years you will all see! Shit will hit the roof real fast man.

The world is so unbelievably fucked who knows if population control will even be an issue in 50 years. Take a look around, any issue could be the end for us all way sooner than 50 years from today.

The human population like any other population will reach its carrying capacity, the point where our consumption rate is equal to the availability of our resources. This is expected to happen at the point when we reach ten billion and food, water and living space become too scarce to support us all. Just like fish in a pond we our population will plateau at this point as our resource levels inhibit the ability to grow further.

it already is a big problem. the amount of resources it takes to feed all the people in america is more than america has. if every country would feed only itself maybe americans wouldnt be so obese and other countries wouldn't be so hungry. It's just that america can actually pay for the food.

There are VAST amounts of unpopulated land all over the world. There are enough resources on Earth to support 7 billion and much more. However, the population will most likely stabilize around 7-10 billion, and it may even fall below 7 billion at some point in the future(totally amateur opinion here). If you look at the birth rate in many developed countries, it's lower than the death rate. As the developing countries catch up and modernize their birth rates will fall as well. No worries about that. What we should worry about is what happens upon governmental collapse. I don't know of any current government in the world that is sustainable (if anyone knows of one let me know, I dont want to be spreading false information). There will be a lot of people who depend on governments that are going to have some pretty hard times in the weeks, months, or years following such a collapse.

Somewhere in the next 50 years there are going to be a lot of people dying from starvation. Just one of those necessary evils in the world I guess.
