Couchsurfing in whistler?

So is this possible? Iam going to whistler for a couple of months this winter and i don't wanna spend a fortune on living since i honestly don't give a shit about where i sleep and where i cook my canned food. Aslong as i got a roof over my head and someone to burn some bcbud with iam good. Are there any cheap hostels, gnarly enough to keep all families and gapers away? Any local bum spot where u can just crash in a sleeping bag? Any1 here living in a collective accommodation who needs an extra dude for the winter? Help me out, I've never been to whistler.
