Couch Surfing!

We hosted a swiss couple at our place at school. they were really friendly and made us food. On a recent trip i was gonna do it through the website, but it didnt really work out. Staying in hostels is a better way to do it in my opinion, you get a bed and youre not imposing on people at all, and you can still meet cool people that are staying there and its cheap, although not free like couch surfing is

Never couch surfed with total strangers. I have stayed with friends of friends of friends sort of thing, and of course girls I have met different places (not anymore though).

Nowadays I think I am too paranoid of bedbugs to stay pretty much anywhere other than home haha.

yea, dont stay at strangers houses..

friends of friends of friends fine.. if you're at a loss, stay at a hostel for 20 bucks, you'll always meet cool people there.

I've used NS a few times for couches to sleep on. Just post in the regionals and someone pretty much always responds. My experiences have been good and I trust a skier more than a hippy.

That being said, my friend and I hosted quite a few Couchsurfers from the website this summer. Mostly euro's hitting up Yosemite. I thought it was fun, they'd usually make us dinner and clean up really well and in return we got to show someone an awesome time.

I say it's totally worth it.

I'm going to france/switzerland in a week and will be spending a night or two on couches to save a bit of extra money. Totally worth it.

I'm checking out a dental residency, i mean, Im far from a hippy, i posted something... it will be interesting to see if someone hits me up!

Thanks for the input! NS is a sweet as community!

I even posted a boarding video and the skiers didnt rip me a new one although im a boarder!

Much love
