Corprate

Please tell me who's in this sport for the money? I would love to talk to them because there isn't any money in freeskiing really, maybe a few exceptions but for the most part this isn't a get rich industry.

And now for the real answer... There's not much money in skiing unless you're consistently winning contests, and even then... Sponsors hand out gear more than money as well. So...the more sponsors you get, the less out of pocket you have to cover. Pretty simple. Don't think there are many pro freeskiers out there SWIMMING in cash...

Fo sho, no one is really in it for the cash. They ski because it's their life and It's what they love to do.

That's why I've worked in the industry in some way, shape or form since about 1993 - instructor, tech, and patrol. I've lost my ass doing it, but luckily always had a real job too, so that I was able to "work" in the ski industry on the side. It's not a money maker unless you're the best of the best, and even then, not a lot. Better be Plake, Seth, McConkey, Sage, or someone on their level. They aren't rich either, and they'll all need real jobs when they're done skiing/filming. Luckily, they all usually get "real jobs" in the biz.

please dont complain about corprate problems in skiing unless you truly know the system( not saying that i know the system either). skiing is run on capitilism. im pritty sure you ask any pro if they could go toa job where they were paid 5x thr amount but not ski they would choose to ski

ya dood not much cashflow in freeskiing.

"Training, nah we;re just out here having fun every dman day" Wallisch

^ i think that is how the quote goes. There may be a couplke of ceo's of big ski companies that might be in the industry for scrilla, but they still ski, and pros do it cuz they love it
