Coronal Mass Ejection... The end?

In September solar activity is expected to be very active. Some theorize a c.m.a will blow away Earth's magnetic field and scorch the hell out the Earth's surface. This could potentially kill billions of people, and create mass drought and famine. So NS, could this be the end of life as we know it, and more importantly could it affect skiing?

I've done some research on this shit, scary stuff.

You have any sources or articles about September in particular though?

also the most that would happen even if this was headed for us would be an interference with electronics and a nice northern lights show for a lot more of the US

just listened to neil degrasse tyson's radio show and he seemed TO NOT GIVE A FUCK.

there was a question about the earth magnetic field and what happens when it shifts from north to south (happened quite a few times in earths history) and there is temporarily NO magnetic field at all. so he didnt adress this exact event, but stated that periods without a magnetic field are on a larger scale not as bad as one might think. and he probably knows about increased sun activity.

so far, life did not have any problems with it and at worst some technological features might not be available for some time.

he is always calm as fuck unless you tell him how great that super moon was and how pluto will forever be a planet in your heart.

hahah this picture says it all

You obviously don't know how to use google search then. Most of it is overhyped doomsday type stuff.

You're a noob

youre just a scared white kid.

go watch a few vids on him. he actually was (as far as he can remember) among the first black scientists who were on major TV for his professional opinion back in the day (i think it was actually about another solar storm). he wasnt representing the black community, like "how does the afro-american community feel about this solar storm?". its pretty funny when he tells the story.

idk how far he waters shit down, but i think that brilliant minds can express complicated matters without acting smart via using tons of complicated words.
