If you spin left try doing this, it helped me learn em.

Take off with a wide stance and wind up pretty good. Throw your left arm and try and grab your right calf/ankle. The point that you reach for on your right leg will determine how corked it is. When you try and grab your right ankle actually look with your head at your right foot and it should send you into a cork rotation. If you end up going d-spin just don't set it quite as hard and aim to grab your right knee. Kind of a weird way to look at it but it's what I think of when I throw my first few corks every season. good luck
 
This seems to work really well for cork 5's/maybe 7's, but if I'm reaching for my leg on anything bigger, I always start to cork doobluh.
 
No i agree with you, but it's a good way to initiate a cork and get uncorked. After you get the hang of it you'll learn you don't have to necessarily set it that hard. For bigger spins once you get used to it you almost have to initiate the cork after you set it as an upright spin if that makes any sense.
 
When I was struggling with corks last season I tried to set the spin with the vision of my hands turning the steering wheel of a car as I took off. It worked perfectly.
