Cork 7 Help

SO i finally did my first cork 7 today and it went fine :D i didnt land but i didnt eat snow either. the only problem i have is the takeoff, i flip it too much and focus more on the flip than the spin. any tips for what i can do on the takeoff to get it more spinny and less flippy :)
 
Just focus more on spinning and the flip should follow, sounds simple but takes practice, just watch videos and try to copy them
 
same thing happened to me yesterday. does anyone have any mental thoughts on how to do it? like whenever i rodeo i think "drop the left shoulder throw the right hip out" it always helps me. If anyone has something they think i would appreciate to hear it.
 
yup thats exactly what im looking for too :) i've heard that you should just focus on spinning and just dropping your shoulder but thats not so easy when you are nervous..
 
I've heard several different tips on how to do it but the one that I like is when you come into the jump, make sure you have your shins pressed against the tongues in your boots so you don't land backseat, and then when setting the rotation, be patient but throw a normal 720 and just line up your vision with the tips of the tails of your skis. Then once you're airborn grab somewhere under the boot but if the grab is gonna make your spin awkward then just clench your core and wait until it pulls itself around, and after 540 it should drop you right into cork 7. Hope this helps

After my attempts yesterday and after that I watched many videos of cork 7's and i noticed that for the rotation you need to set spin first then drop your shoulders. almost pretend you are looking into your shoulder and have you shoulder spin left then drop it towards your skis not drop and spin after. hop i make sense I am still working on it. next time I go up I will try again and let you know how it goes. maybe we are both over thinking it haha. good luck!
 
Just a little. Basically the shin pressure means the opposite of leaning back when sending it off the lip. It might feel a little awkward but it will make the landing near perfect
 
"punch the midget" or try to reach your arm across your body trying to grab the tails of your ski. For example if you spin left take your right arm and reach across your body trying to grab the tail of your left ski, that should be the rotation. A lot of people say you should carve into the cork too but you really dont need to, I learned them flat based and have had no problem

When I did my first cork 7, I my upper body is completely horizontal right off the jump but I didn't get all the way corked fml
