Cork 3

So ns, looking to try a cork 3, but need some input. So i know in order to get into the cork you have to carve in the jump, what scares me is that i'll end up landing on my side or my ass and i really can't afford to get hurt and loose my job. So any advice would be great. Thanks

I tried a few this summer, but was never able to get it down. Falling on cork 3s is definitely one of the more painful falls you can take. The biggest thing that threw me off was how little effort you put into it. If you get the carve right, you litterally dont need to even fuck with the spin. The first time i tried and actually put effort into it i went into a cork 630 and landed sideways. Just be super easy going about it and you should get it down quick.

Well first of skiing is inherently dangerous. Freeskiing is even more dangerous. So understand by attempting this maneuver you are putting your self at risk of serious injury. Also understand you will fall and pretty hard to the first time. Cork 3s are weird to get use to and do. I'd learn the rotation on a tramp then take it to a bag or powder then in load it on a jump. Make sure the jump is junior enough cuz those weak 10 footers arnt gonna cut it. You need at least 25 to whip it.

Thanks for the quick replies. I know that freeskiing is dangerous. I broke my collarbone and wrist last year and got layed off from my job last year. That's why im a bit nervous to try this. i work as an electrician so im kinda screwed with any type of injury

Idk what state you live in but for most that's illegal depending on the situation. But try it on a tramp and then an airbag or water ramp. Also as the guy before said it takes little effort. Make sure you can do flips first and are comfortable in the air doing 3s and fives. Be confident and the carve matters but its more important you have the correct movement. Don't expect to land it you first time and get ski knee pads and side pads if your worried.

ya cork three will take probably a month or two to learn on tramp

on tramp do a 360, break at the waist, kick the trailing leg out and think about rotating around the leading leg that is kept straight. dip your leading shoulder. look at the ground but at 180 look up as if you were to look up at the lip on the jump when youre backward mid spin of cork 3. and just practice, that is my explanation of a cork three

then its really easy on snow after that

cork 3's are completely different on tramp and skis

Ah the cork three. My biggest problem while learning cork threes was ending up throwing a cork 5 instead. Try carving off the lip and planting your skis in the air as if you are wall planting. And if you spin left side reach close safety with your left hand (or vice versa) grabbing safety whIle planting your skis should send you off axis just right. There is really no need to throw the 360 rotation because it is a very very floaty trick. But if you throw it like I said you should see your landing the entire time and you'll bring it right to your feet. Reducing your chance of landing on your side. Good luck!

Ive never actually went in thinking that I was going full out cork, but if you carve and bring your skis up like a blunt 3 and lean towards for a safety instead you will begin to lean into it. I am hoping to get it in by the end of the season but good luck to you man.

SEND IT!!!! Carve hard, pop harder, spin fast, stop the landing. Oh and the safest jump to try it one is 50+

Spinning fast is real retarded advic for a cork 3 you jabroni

I find it easier when you throw one leg up during your set. So when u drop your shoulder your legs and whole body go off axis and it doesn't look like a retard spin...
