Copyrights

yeah I was wondering if they do too cuz with normal radio they have to pay but I doubt ns radio does.

NS SKATEBOARDERS UNITE

Technically, yes. You are 'supossed' to have a license/permission for use of any copyrighted item.

There is a company called SOCAN in Canada who try to enforce that artists get royalties for songplay on radio stations, clubs, etc.

But here's the deal. In NS radio's case this would be a tough battle for them to fight. NS radio is non-profit and does not make any money off it's radio shows/play. Most radio stations have to abide by SOCAN, RIAA, and other regulating agencies because they make a profit. They have commericals who advertisers pay for.

In all honesty, some copyright laws are completely ridiculous. Do you realize that we all have breached copyright laws NUMEROUS times in our lives?

Do you realize that when you photocopy a page from a book you are breaking copyright law?

It's ridiculous and quite stupid.
