Cops beat man to death, normally I side with the cops, but this is fucked up. Video pics and article inside

Which guy? I dont follow

Im not trying to say the cops are right by anymeans. I think this is fucked.

Im just saying guys on drugs can be insanely strong.

True but this guy didn't seem combative at all from the video. He complied with the officers requests and pulled out batons on him before he did anything.

Oh i know it could have been handled perfectly fine from the beginning. See my other post about how stupid and unprofessional that cop was.

Im just saying that after they have him pinned on the ground if he was on drugs it is possible that the three or so cops couldnt hold him down. But what they did was ridiculous.

What if all the people who come and argue about the law on the internet are actually lawyers and we ignore them because they're on the internet?

Bullshit.

There is absolutely no chance at all that they couldn't retrain him with their hands alone.

I would go as far as to say that with 2 cops you can restrain 1 homeless person without drawing blood even, drugs or not.

Its not man. Some drugs can do some crazy shit.

My friends dad said he didnt believe it until he experienced trying to hold a guy down that was high on some crazy shit. He said its unreal.

My talk about holding someone down is unrelated to this story. I was just putting it our there.

Like i said this is some fucked up shit and it is obvious that these cops were dumbass' that were handed a badge and let loose.

Werd ya I thought you were justifying what the cops were doing or something.

I feel like cops should be required to have mental evaluation every month, to prevent things like this.

looks like the justice system hasn't given them a harsh enough penalty, the men in prison will take care of that.

Wouldn't mind seeing the other side of the story. Why the cops went so crazy. Toxicology. Maybe his explanation. Other cops coming on the scene, witnesses before the attempted arrest and restraining. Pretty rowdy I might add. Does the homeless man have a prior record that would suggest the nessecity for the cop to feel the need to be more agressive. I just would like to see the full spectrum of information to make an honest judgement.

But wow. Intense.

Anal_fissure explain your " go murica" comment.

i wish i could have heard what the cops said in court after they showed that video. Each one of them should be tied up and beaten near death and then thrown into florida state penitentiary to get raped and beat up more.

I love the whole "these guys are terrible human beings, but here's the infinitely more horrific, gruesome and messed up way that i want them to die!" attitude.

you might just be saying or thinking it, but you're messed up for it all the same.

that is so unbelievably fucked up. i hope they get beaten to death in prison.

when i see something like this however, i don't think "those are some evil fucking cops" i tend to think "those are some evil fucking people"

there really needs to be a more strict way of becoming a cop, like intense mental exam to ensure this shit doesn't happen. too many cops are cops for the wrong reason.

wowowowow

you just said that us thinking that those guys who beat a defenseless man to death should be put to death as well makes us as bad as them? lolwut?

The thing is though that he was trying to do it. He was obviously on something. He couldn't put his hands on his knees with his feet in front of him. At that point the officer should have known he was on some sort of drugs, and responded in sorts. Rather, he threatens the guy, and gets loud/aggressive. I don't know how much experience you have with drunk/tweakers, but from every time I have had to deal with them (bouncer at a bar, obviously not like the cops have to) it is amazing how if you are calm they will calm down. He started yelling, which made the victim scared, and aggressive himself. Then the guy is yelling at him to relax...find any doctor who says that yelling at someone is going to make them relax...

its not called jail if you have to go in for more then a year its prison, and no they don't they will get the shit kicked out of them everyday for being cops.

California state laws state that a non-premeditated murder yields a 20 year to life imprisonment. With that being said, I may be wrong about the conviction but that cop got off with a hell of a bargain. It doesn't matter if he's wearing a uniform or not, he should get the same punishment as any other person would if he is breaking the law.

So he used to be a cop until cops killed his son, then he was homeless and they killed him too? Is this what I'm reading?

Not quite. It looks like the homeless guy's father was a retired sheriff and the Fullerton PD tried to settle the case out of court with the father for $900k and the officers would have kept their jobs.

cops should be held to a higher standard then civilians as they are trusted to uphold the law. clearly that isnt the case though.

it seems that cops always get away with nothing or considerably less than what a standard citizen should. but in fact the cops should suffer much greater consequences than the average citizen if they commit a crime as they are trusted with the protected of the citizens of their country and have the responsibility to do so.

either it way it seems the police of most countries need some kind of a reform...

completely agree with the first part.

second part, not so much.

Of course every country has problems with the police. However Europe doesn't have patrols periodly beating people to death or into coma.

Mariusaka, I know you are from Europe so I'd believe you didn't just say that "Europe" doesn't have these kinds of problems! Before Europeans understand that it's not healthy to strictly compare Europe to North America, nothing will change, definitely if Europeans are saying "...in Europe..."

I talked about patrol, not about hooligans in Athens. And we don't have that kind of violence here regarding patrol, no matter what you say...

Ik its hard to compare europe with north america. Still, since many us citizens regard themselves as the world's police, someon needs to question this state.

LoL, a police officer like this one -->

would face some serious issues if he behaved like that in Switzerland.

i've decided you're ignorant.

On November 15, 2010, during a demonstration called by labor unions and leftists groups against the entrance of the IMF into Greece, the Delta police nearly fatally attacked a member of the international community-a 105 pound female American writer and activist who was beaten to unconsciousness with a blunt object and then kicked and beaten repeatedly in the head, neck and back, and abdomen. Eyewitnesses report the use of force by multiple officers during a prolonged time in which the demonstrator was already unconscious, laying on the ground and bleeding from the head. Among multiple injuries, including blood hemorrhaging, her skull was fractured and she suffers permanent inner ear damage.
