So the new season is here in a few days and I was just wondering what you think about the changes being made this year at Coppper. They are adding a new park but it's on the other side of the mountain and they got rid of the smaller halfpipe. Anyone know more details and what do you think?

in their ads in Freeskier they say they'll have a 430+ ft. superpipe. hopefully they'll have their 100 foot rail up all the time this season. it was only up for one weekend i think.

but this year their park should be better than ever,i can't wait. i'll be up there on nov. 2nd and 3rd, anybody else goin up??

ill probably be there a few times because i can get passes for kinda cheap, $12!!! but i have he colorado pass so umm...go vail i guess, lates

 
i'll be there for damn sure. Im soo fuckin stoked for the season. Plus on the copper freeride site it says that they will have 3 rails and a kicker up. that will be sick.

u think they'll have anything up this weekend...cause if its just crowded greens and i have to pay i dunno if its worth it

 
on their site they say they'll have a few rails and a kicker on opening day. so hopefully all those will be up there on saturday.

also, i just heard that they're gonna open on this friday (nov. 1st) instead of the 2nd. does anyone know if this is actually true!??!? or is this just a rumor?!??!?

ahhhh!!! i just was at their site and they said that copper is opening early!!!!!!! on friday nov. 1st they will be open from noon the 4pm.

yay!!! that means that i can ski a day early! i'll be up there at like 2 oclock on friday, and probably all day saturday and sunday.

check this out. i got this e-wire news thing in my email and they said 'You'll also have opening-day access to a hip new jib park adjacent to Solitude at the top of the American Eagle lift featuring four rails and a couple of boxes for your early season pleasure. There's something for every ability level in this progressive new park.'

yay!!!!!!! i can't wait, it'll be sick.

I went up today (Nov 1) and it was pretty decent. One run, from the top of the Excelerator quad was open. They had 7 rails set up right below the American Eagle/Flyer, I don't remember which one goes up that way. They had a short flat rail, two longer flat rails, a little trap, a down kink, and 2 boxes. I didn't see the jump that was talked about, so maybe they didn't get it built for today.

 
yah, i didn't see a jump either, but the rails were a lot of fun. hopefully next week they'll have a kicker up.

if you don't have a pass you can cheat the system by getting a kids ticket. they're free for pre-season.

finally copper is opening up some more lifts. they say that the flyer and t-rex will open up tomarow (the 14th).

with vail and winter park opening, this means that less people will be at copper, yay. it was so crowded last weekend.

hopefully they will build a kicker soon, or begin to make the super pipe.....

flyer and timberline open tomorrow and r and s (i don't know what they call them now) open this weekend. they're also opening up more terrain leaving the run total at 35!

if there isn't any new snow on saturday, i'll probably just jib in their little rail park for most of the day. see ya there.

Insider tip for everyone. The real skiing right now is under resolution lift on sawtooth or any of those others. You have to duck the rope but you'll be loving it. Just ski right by the lift and traverse skiers left down the hill to the highway and hitch hike back to A lot. Don't tell too many people. And as far as them ever opening Super Bee and the other lifts. I say them leave them closed forever cause the skiing has been sick without all the gapers.

a friend and i skied down resolution and then got down to the highway and hitch hiked back. i don't know if it was really worth it becuase it was really steep enough to make good powder turns. we basically straitlined to whole thing. we've also been ducking ropes into the bowls. that has been sick. one of the bowl had a huge fracture in it, probably 150 yards wide. but the snow has been sick.

 
The trick is to have 8 guys poaching on the flat stuff then you leap frog around each other into the one track and get hauling ass. It's an art.

 
Was anyone up there last weekend, (the 7th and 8th of dec.). They had an okay jump, it wasn't that big, but it was fun just to mess around on. I also like the long flat rail into the kinked into the rainbow, that's a fun line to take.

whos goign to be up there Christmas break? and what do they have open now in the park, the web site says only the super pipe is open but it sounds like they had more than that a long time ago

 
finally going up to copper over break. couldn't concentrate during the last 2 weeks b/c i couldn't wait to get back to copper's jib park which is probably gone by now. anyone got updates?

i dunno, i think i heard that the full park will be open around christmas time. i bet the mini jib park will still be open though.

mini jib park's still up but they took everything down. no 100 ft rail, no hip, no roller coaster s. nothing. no rails up in the real park yet. the hits are a lot bigger this year, and the big side wasn't finished the last time i was up there.

also, who on here was in the park the 27th sporting last year's ns.com hoodie?

i think that was me, on friday i wore the black ns hoodie, i was hiking the 1st jump in the middle. the middle jumps are really nice, i like them a lot. they are just as big as the right side was last year, i can't wait to see what the right side will be like.

yah, the right side should be pretty sweet. the middle side is perfect just for like learning new stuff, then you can take it over to the big side for some bigger air.

the park is almost in full effect, they have three hits and a hip and the end in each lane. the right side is looking pretty nice, the jumps were marked off when i was there. and the q-pipe looks sweet too, it's pretty big. can't wait for the rest of it to open up with all the gnarly rails.

i just got back from copper. and they're park is in full effect. the right side is huge, but it was difficult to get speed cuase of the new snow. also the quarter pipe is cut nicely with a little jib box on the top for wall rides and stuff. they also have the rollar coaster S rail set up and a pretty gnarly trap. it's sweet. the park is soo nice.

You left out the pipe, The pipe was cut perfectly for some boarder compitition. Toby Dawson was there.

those hips are pretty big, especially the one on the right side, i wouldn' try to clear it, just land on the side of it and be safe.

okay so today copper had a snowboard slopestyle comp. and the resort went all out for the park. everything is up. tons of rails (rollercoaster s included), all three lanes, and the quarter pipe. it's way sweet, so go.
