Copper or Steel?

Hey guys, Im going out to Low's tonight to get some supplies since i broke my rail this morning. Which is better for rails, copper or galvanised steel?

and definitley steel. copper is wayyyyy too soft. but im not sure if you want galvanized, cause i think that kills you if you weld it or something ridiculous like that
 
not sure if it's too late, but if you have a chance get normal steel. stainless is ideal. don't bother with galvanized
 
I just went and got some 1" x 10' E.M.T. steel conduit. They didnt have much in the way of steel so we'll see how this works out.
 
I take it you bought the pipe at like Home Depot or Lowe's? Did you get galvanized or the regular black steel or whatever. Pictures? I would be worried about rusting, but paint would maybe make it slide shitty. Let me know what to get for when I make my new jibs for my year. Galvanized or regular steel?
 
I got regular steel conduit, it slides great. I did look at the black steel and thought about buying that but they didnt have any good sizes. I got all my stuff from Menards, but you can find more variety and cheaper prices at Lowe's or Home Depot, I just didnt feel like driving that far. As for galvanized, my friend has some and he pretty much just waxes his skis and rail before he hits it and it slides fine. As for rusting, yes its easier to rust, but i mainly wipe my rail off whenever we get a wet snow, so it should be fine. If it rusts just sand it off.
 
My friend and I just experimented with some copper today after school, and its surprisingly not that soft, although it would be unadvisable to dig your edges into it because you WILL fall, my friend learned that the hard way. Copper slides nicely with no waxing, the only downfall is that it IS expensive, and it is a little too soft to be very hard on.
