Cop Shoots Dog(Wrong house)

^^ seriously, whether or not it happened the only reason the video is up is to try and get more people to hate all cops for the mistakes made by only some.

yes, thank you. those animal-activist people who care so much more about animal's lives than people's make me so angry. how can you possible value an animal over a person.

I would personally, with an axe, kill every dog on the planet - If it was required to save 1 person's life.

even considering the fact that most dogs are someones best friend and most people are complete pieces of shit?

Dogs don't have the mental capacity to "suck" as humans do. Coincidentally, this fact is also the reason why dogs are far less important than humans.

lulz

anything to see in that 20 minutes?

also- im on the 'humans are better than dogs' side. maybe dogs LIKE getting shot, you wouldn't know. maybe they love it. now what do you do?

Im not one who believes in "fuck the police"

but if a cop shot my dog and I was in this situation, it would be my personal vendetta to get his badge taken away. hell id want him dead.

i actually feel sympathy for the animals. i think the reason may people get so angry is that animals have little control of the situation, and don't understand what is happening. when a dog is abused, its almost like abusing a baby. they just want love, and to love, and it goes against their nature.

well whatever that probably makes no sense, but fuck animal abuse/killing. dogs are awesome

I agree with you man and this situation is bottom line fucked up. i dont understand how people on this site have to look past the fact that there was a dog shot and the cop was in the wrong. Wouldnt you be pissed as fuck if that happened to you? 100 dollars says you would all make a thread about it....

who care if dogs are better or not. Cops shoot innocent people way more than they shoot innocent dogs. people want to pretend like the cops they see in these videos that abuse their power are just a small minority but they really aren't. They still maybe a minority but from my own personal experience in NYC with stop and frisk and through seeing hundreds of youtube videos on the internet like this, this kind of abusive behavior is pretty common (not meaning they are all shooting dogs but you get the point)

I guarantee everyone here has at least seen one cop illegally park their car outside of a coffee place or some place they were going for a break (not responding to a call). It happens all the time and even that is an example of them abusing their power which is a slippery slope. Cops enforce the laws but they still have to obey them.

There was some study in the, 90's and I'm trying to find it now but can't, where they followed cops who started their careers abusing their power in a small way (like illegally parking) and in most cases those copse were the ones who used excessive force etc. etc.

i don't get stopped but all my black and hispanic friends do. I was even walking down the street with 2 black kids they got stopped and questioned and i didn't i just stood there waiting.

It's terrible what the guy did, sure, but five years? In prison for killing an animal? It's controversial once again as to how he reacted (Shoot to kill if you are in danger!!!) but that would be simply crazy talk.

Cops shoot regular people, humans, on accident or for wrong reasons far more often than they kill animals like this. While there might be some outrage about suspicious "Death by cop" cases, it's weird how the contemporary Western world gets so caught up behind an ideal that dogs are pets and friends, while they are being respected and eaten in many other cultures.

As a dog owner, that would feel horrible at first, and I too would seek justice for what happened as the man is doing, such as getting him retrained or suspended for wrongful use of firearms etc... But five years in prison? That's more than people get for rape or felonies, or even bribing politicians!

I don't know, what happened is wrong in many ways, but prison time for killing a pet is not the right anwer.

I'm just fucking sick of seeing cops abuse their power in the US it's actually like they think they have superiority over everyone and can get away with whatever they want. Yea get straight C's through highschool become trigger/power happy cop.

yeah i know that some people are completely useless, and are actually deterrents to the greater good of the world, but i think i still hold this position. at least in a general sense.

if there were a specific situation then maybe it would change, but w.e

school is out and i dont feel like using my brain anymore.

related?

I typed that on my computer and had new thoughts on new lines and it looked ok, now I'm on mobile and it looked messed up. Maybe I shouldn't do that anymore

Said the angry whelk who claims he would purposely change lanes to kill a motorcycle rider going too fast.

Can't believe the owner was so nice about it, I'd be flipping my shit!

thats prolly on the cops laptop in the car. Cant count the number of times ive pulled up next to a copcar and see them creepin on facebook while driving. cop was prolly checking his facebook or messaging someone on the computer and got the address wrong.

this dumb fucking cop is dumb as fuck... stop saying why didnt you get your fucking dog.. the guy was in his backyard with his dog. you said get your dog and shot him at literally the same fucking time.

you shoot dog, you go to jail. I would be fucking trying to fight this cop right now if he shot my dog for no reason because his dumbass went to the wrong house. honestly I would try and kill this guy.

before I say anything else, I want it to be known that I fully appreciate the cops who do their job and are out there to help the public, and also that I understand that people make mistakes.

HOWEVER

the vast majority of police officers that I've run into have been absolute pricks. I've had cops run into the basement of my friend's house busting a party, with their guns drawn threatening to shoot a bunch of 15-18 year old kids if we didn't get out of there immediately. I've had cops physically threaten me for the sole reason that I didn't know something that they wanted to know. I've also had my friends be chased down and pulled over by the cops, taken out of the car and legally searched without consent just because a kid who didn't like them called the cops and told them to pull him over. the same kid who, about a year prior, went to one of their houses and slashed the brand new tires on his truck and had absolutely no consequences. gross abuse of power is very prevalent in the police forces around the country, and anybody who says otherwise is either naive or blindly defending the police. the fact that immediately after shooting the dog, he spent a good amount of time trying to justify it simply sickens me. I'm not going to go so far as to say that a dog's life is worth more than a human's, however there's a difference between killing a domesticated animal because it was running toward you and killing a person or an unpredictable, wild animal that is clearly attacking you. I've got three labs, and anybody who has labs knows that they're very friendly. they don't care who you are or what is written on your car; if you pull into the driveway, they're going to run out and greet you and most likely will jump on you. dogs don't have the power of discretion that humans do; they only have instinct. their instinct tells them to protect their master/pack leader/owner/what ever, and that's what they're going to do. however, more often than not, any dog that's going to bite you in defense of its owner is only going to do it if it is given the command to do so.

Stupid mobile.. But I can't believe you people are relating this to other incidents where people died. Of course there will always be something worse that's happend. That doesn't change what happend or how i feel about the subject. It's almost like saying that 9/11 isn't a big deal because way more people died in the holocaust.

the reason he rightly won't be excessively punished is simple.

shoot a human...gone forever.

shoot a dog....replaceable within 3 days. Memories will last on and it'll be sad, but yea...a few weeks to months, and everyone will have just about completely forgotten.

the fact that anyone is willing to compare the life of a human and a dog is outrageous. I love my pets as much as anyone, but in the end they are still pets.

So at first I just watched the video and thought it was fucked up but then........ I read the article and saw the pictures of the dog.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT MAN WERE YOU REALLLLLY SCARED OF THAT FUCKING DOG... LIKE REALLY YOU ARE A COP AND YOU WERE SCARED OF THAT DOG SO MUCH THAT YOU PULLED YOUR GUN IN 2 SECONDS AND SHOT IT...

seriously is this dog scary...

no its not at all.. pepper spray or a swift kick would have made that dog run away but no the 9mm had to blast off.

not racist at all but god damn this really proves that black people are realllllyyy scared of dogs.

Then again it's how many cops are trained in the US, shoot to kill, no matter the opponent. Easier to straggle for the gun than the taser.

It's still pretty fucked up to listen to the tape, we don't see what's going on, where and how the dog was situated, running at what speed etc. All we know is that a cop shot a dog coming straight at him.

comparing a picture of the dog, taken when it's resting and relaxed to when it's running towards you, and you've never encountered it before...

yea that's fair.

nah no need. every time i deal with cops, they're either assholes, or they don't care. I have had absolutely no good experiences with the police.

dont get me wrong, we need cops in this world to keep the peace, but when they dont think and act, they fuck up. and this is a pretty big fuck up. imagine if your dog was shot and killed by a cop who responded to a call at the WRONG house? you'd feel the same way.

like those people that didn't pay fire dept. insurance and their houses burned down.. but anyways i had sound this time and listened to the vid (some)

im still not on either bandwagon, but yes, unfortunate that a cop shot a dog b/c he was at the wrong house. shit happens, everyone get off your high horses. mine is way higher.

I mean guys, obviously this is a fucked up situation, but i think it's pretty clear the cop didn't mean to shoot the dog on purpose. It was just a natural reaction that ended up in a really situation for everyone involved. I mean idk if it's consider standard protocol for a cop to have his gun pulled when going to a house where he suspects just a domestic disturbance(I think that it was). But i mean if that's what they consider normal protocol, I would prob act the same way if a dog comes out of no where and is running at me. Obviously it depends where but if he is about to jump at me I mean like it would just be my natural reaction... That being said the cop should def like idk have to go back to school or maybe even lose his job depending on his record, but jail time is a bit overkill... But seriously the cop reacted like a fucking douche trying to blame the guy for not having his dog on a leash, I mean just the way he acted is what angers me the most.

But like idk why he had his gun pulled to begin with, like why would u approach a house where it's just a simple domestic abuse with a gun pointed preparing to shoot anything that moves...

dude I dont care... I have been chased and bitten by little dogs like that. let the guy that is by himself unarmed get his dog. dont just open fire on the little guy. I mean run back to your car, call for back up, its not like that dog had a gun or the capability to kill him...
