COP Park and Pipe....

When do all you local dudes predict the terrain park will be fully up and running? I should be coming out in a couple of weeks...
 
i had this emailed to me today....park should be up sooner then they think....7 days of -40 should help

Hope everyone stayed warm over the weekend. Here is the Club update for the last week in November:

Important: The hill is closed today due to the cold weather with extremely high wind-chill factor. There is a strong possibility that the hill will be closed tomorrow as well if temperatures stay the same. The forecast calls for a warming trend to start on Wednesday.

Training terrain: I am sure most of you are wondering when the east and west sides of the hill will be opening for training. Our original date was set for the first weekend in December, which has been modified to the middle of December due to the warm weather conditions last week. Currently we need about another 7 days of constantly cold weather to finish blowing snow on both outer sides of the hill.

Terrain Park: In regards to the halfpipe, the operations crew will need an additional week after the snow making is done to cut the pipe before it will opened for training.

Freestyle Site: The operations crew is still excavating on the east with the scheduled opening of the freestyle sites (aerials/ mogul runs) to be opened in the New Year.

says somthing about the pipe being open? which is kinda wierd, not sure if they mean the park or what, cause from everyone it sounds like it will be another week or 2 untill its up??????????????????
 
man i cant wait, i am def gonna go next week during the week when its supposed to get even warmer and sunnier!
 
you guys can allllll go...hope you don't expect too much though!! hahaa...parks not opening till the 8th and pipe on the 9th
 
next weekend is cool, i would rather wait another week for a good park thats made right, instead of have it open this weekend and have them have to remake it again in a few weeks
 
yee i was there last night...i couldnt see it all opening by saturday...but defintly the upper park will be...its got some good shape to it...could see a dropish thing....not sure what thas all about but it had a landing so...who knows....but no that theres some more snow the lil park is tight, the little jump at the bottem is awesoem...but really easy to over shoot...heh i know....but meh still going tomorrow
 
Don't expect the park or pipe to open too soon this year. The park crew wants to take their time and ensure that all features have time to set up and solidify properly before they open anything to the public, especially the pipe (i.e. avoid holes in the walls, lip breakdown, etc.). The "expected" opening of the main park is Dec 8, as Eric mentoned, and the pipe on the 9th, however, after speaking with operations, it is completely weather, and Wade, dependent. COP is holding a lot of high-level competitions this yr and is gonig to maximize their terain park, so they're going to take the time to do it right.
 
fuckin good to hear!! first time in how many years they've done this now?! i'll wait how ever long it takes for everything to be set up properly...that way nobody will be dissappointed at all with anything...im stoked!!
 
is it just me, or is the rainbow rail really gay now? i just find it hard to pop on to. Other than that though the park is way better than its been. Top park is fun too, the down rail is really fun, and i havent tried the battleship yet but it looks good.
 
the rainbow looks gay and in a sense is, its just ridiculously easy and if you pop enough u can land on the down part really easily.
 
yee i donno what u guys are talkin about, it is pretty easy....maybe a lil different to get onto but still...i donno...unless they changed it from yesterday
 
you guys expect way too much out of a 1 foot high rainbow rail...its in the "progression park" for a fucking reason...its for beginners and kids that wanna just dick around
 
yee so whats everyone think of the rail set up at the top...id have to say that the battle ship is pretty damn sweet...just hard to see at night without clear lenses...or thats what i found haha n that down rail ...bit hard to get more than a few inches with having to hop so high
 
i think with the room they have up there they should have alot better down rail set up, longer or something, but maybe it means they are gonna put all the other rails to good use

 
the way they had that long down rail set up at the very top of the top park last year was sick...but that in the place of the current one would be dope as shit...im content with it all though...super fun!!
 
PARK OPENS ON SATURDAY DEC 9TH NOT FRIDAY, just chatted to the cat drivers the big park will open on sat not friday anymore, if you dont read this and come anyway, well tough shit i warned you!

dude im coming anyway whether its done or not, but ill also probably go tomorow morning and see whats up even though ill have a mad hangover
 
not a hyge step up...almost more like a double...id say maybe 6 foot step up at most...gaps probly close to 30...maybe more...jumps suuuuuper lippy but again you gotta almost straightline from the first jump to make it good

i fucking love it hahaha
 
Ok so this monday and tuesday the jump line is gonna be totally different. Theyre changing it so the first one is a 35 footer, second one is a 50 footer. Only the top mini park will be open. Wednesday is gonna be nuts
 
tee hee hee i have fucking wednesday off work :D this is gonna be eeeeeepic!! good or bad thing i havn't hit the jumps in over a week now??!
