Their Facebook page posted today sometime in August COP is getting a year round Airbag.

Canada Olympic Park

AIRBAG

CONTEST - I would like to officially announce that COP is getting an

airbag! Opening date is looking like the middle of Aug. Skiers and

boarders will now be able to train year round at the Park. If you want

to be the first to jump into the new WinSport Canada airbag, upload a

pic of yourself fully decked out in your ski or snowboard gear during

the SUMMER. More details to follow…

so jacked!

sorry to rain on your parade but you will deffs need cfsa insurance/be affiliated with a ski club to hit it.... i dont know what cop is talking about

oh well i have/had cfsa insurance cuz i did intro to comp this year with cop freeskiers, hopefully i still have it or can renew it, and how do you know for sure?

haha because it is a huge liability for cop just to send a random person off the ramp. the airbag is replacing a water ramp for those of you who dont know.

well i don't think they would make a FB status about a year round airbag being installed and only letting teams on it, my guess is it is just going to be a waiver you have to sign and a ticket/pass you can buy. idk i have no problem getting cfsa insurance

this is bullshit. if they only open it to teams etc. after posting that on FB ....fucking hell

I'm 75% sure that the airbag is owned by the cop freeskier club, on Patty's facebook he talked about making a deposit. You will have to have CFSA qualification to hit it though for insurance.

If you rejoin probably, if you don't at least make sure you have your CFSA membership for this year (I think it expires in september,) I bet you could get yourself on it somehow. Oh and I'm going to correct my last post, COP does own the airbag, I messed up and misread Patty's post. I'm not sure how the water ramps worked while they were at cop but the ones in red deer require you to have a CFSA membership to hit but you don't need to be part of a club, I would assume its the same for the airbag.

Its an annual fee, I think its like 40$ if you don't compete and its around 60 if you do.

Heres the site:http://www.freestyleski.com/en/

Also Curtis seems to know whats up, I'm pretty much guessing anything so you may want to talk to him about the bag.

Airbag is open Saturday August 13th at noon. Its $40 for however long it is open and you need a CFSA membership, you however do not need to be on a team.

This is gonna be the sketchiest thing, I have absolutly no desire to ever go and hit the bag. I would rather drive to red deer and hit the ramps and land in soft water then jump onto a bag without poles. Thats just me though.

I find water ramps can hurt a lot more than airbag. Have you ever hit a bag jump before?

Also another quick update, I'm no longer sure if the airbag will be open tomorrow. Supposedly COP has not obtained the right insurance. I'm not 100% sure though.

could be i don't know for sure. don't shoot the messenger. they just posted it on their twitter and facebook.

went today with a buddy ( i didnt ramp due to recent srugery) and its really really mediocre. anybody can ramp on it but you just need a 40$ membership then your good.

its not really big enough to practice big stuff but if your just wanting to learn some new flips its pretty decent. Your best bet is the red deer ramps if you want to throw down. Just coached a ramp camp there and it was super sick. my kids absolutely slayed it. here is our youngest kid mark getting work done.

that kid was killing it! who do you coach? and i saw someone rocking a hat from the LL big mtn comp. know who it was?
