also Aswan North from Paper Tongues is incredibly talented, and has a gnarly stage presence
 
Talented, but I wouldn't put him up there against the big names. Mars Volta isn't on the same level as frontmen like Mercury or Daltry.
 
cedric is pretty tight.

I love volta but their interviews make me sick, they are both such slimy artsy fucks.

i definitely hear that. but they are also from a different generation..
i have always been a fan (to a certain extent) of David Lee Roth. dude was pretty sick though a complete and total prick

This is in regards to live concerts. Definitely definitely not all time, but i sure loved watching Karen O get down.
 
nah dude, killing himself was caused by addictions, insecurities, and the rest of the crap that comes with american pop culture.
though i do believe much of his popularity is attributed to "martyr status"

stop being such a hipster fuck and excluding some of the best of all time for no reason?
 
If you want just plain badass singers then I'd go for Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures) or Brian Johnson (AC/DC)

For the most talented singers I'd say Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth).
