Cool down with the ride on features

The problem isn’t that progression features exist. I skied park in the days where there were no progression features, parks were super sketchy, and it sucked. What we need is a mix. Not everything should be a huge down bar with a tiny lip, but not everything should be a fat tube with a ride on lip. There should be both

Exactly this and hopefully in the next couple of years we start to see more parks make this shift. We have never been in an equilibrium of park feature difficulty before but with this shift to almost entirely progressive features coming from almost all huge gnarly features we should hit an equilibrium in the relatively near future.

out of 14 rails/boxes in our parks I think 2 are ride on and both of those are boxes.

We have a tendency to only have ride on boxes, most rails have a urban lip or sometimes a gap.

If only there was a way to create your own urban-style features using features that already exist in an urban environment.... hmmm...............

U are right skierman but it’s 50 degrees out and there’s no snow to build with

If rails are gonna be smaller I don’t mind too much I just want the lip to be set back at least a couple feet. Otherwise the second you get on the first half is already behind you

It's not for you, it's for snowboarders and "safer" features. Ride on boxes that are wider than a snowboard is the perfect feature for people who started snowboarding because it LoOkS ExTr3Me. Granted, it's not the early 2000s anymore so this trend may be gone. It's also safer, you can't skewer yourself on a ride on feature but you can on one that is not.

Couple seasons ago the park crew at springs built all the lips urban on and all the 16 year old comp kids were bitching how they "didn't make the lips for skiers"

No young up and coming rail skiers are coming out of springs rn cause of ride on features with this mentality.
