Contest sway for 14 grand

A good friend of mine is in the yobiSing singing contest. His name is Luke Roberts. This kid has been a musician all his life and plays in a terrifyingly sick band with two of his brothers. in all honesty he is one of the most musically talented people i have ever met. With 14g's on the line you are going to have divvy it up and if he wins he will have to put a large portion of his proceeds in to the newschoolers trust fund.
 
I voted for your boy, but I don't think he should win. And I checked out his band and they do really bad old-style funk/rap RHCP crap but not as well. hmmmm. I do not feel good about robbing the other guy this time.
 
his band has a real versatile sound. i think you listened to their one hip hop influenced song and skipped the rest of it.

they do a very modern rockish style.

and their live set is incredible.

all three of them vocally lead songs, including Luke, who drums, plays keys, and sings all well, all at the same time.

also, his older brother, the electric guitarist would shred whatever it is you play on that strat to pieces. he has been studying classical classical for around 10 years now. that mug can PLAY.

if you really think that girl deserved it, then please vote for her. i personally was not impressed.
 
Even just based on the entries, the girl won. Her lyrics were better, her singing was better, and the best your buddy put out was some piano-driven soppy over-emoted crap. Like "whoa, yeah, baby, yeah" lyrics. They're very 3 doors Down as a band, which isn't saying much. Granted, I only have 3 tracks to go on. His singing sucks. I'm not gonna dispute that. it does. It's like an American Idol reject from the 3rd round.
As for the guitar brother, I'm not gonna try and say I know I'm better than him. I don't know what he plays or how he plays, but I'm a Jazz guitar major, so I know a bit myself, and he's definitely nothing special.
Again, 3 songs, that's my opinion so far. If you have more, and you know they're better than what I'm saying, I invite you to give me more tunes to listen to, but just from the 3 on their website, they are absolutely nothing special no matter how many instruments they play simultaneously.
