Computer Speed Suggestions?

I have a Power Mac G5, non intel. It has OSX 10.4.11. 4.5 GB of RAM. The processor is a 2.7 Ghz PowerPC. And it is getting very slow. Videos take quite a while to load, and occasionally pictures. I frequently clear off the desktop and put files on to my external hardrive, but that makes only the slightest difference. Any suggestions?

Reformat your harddrive, install more ram, defrag your harddrive. The last two you can do without having to wipe your whole OS.

Get some programs like CCcleaner. just google clean up programs, theres lots of free ones and they work quite well

if youre fed up with a computer with 4.5 gigs of ram, you would want to throw my current computer out the window. assuming your computer's speed hasnt been reduced by 3/4

Like I said, I frequently clear my desktop, but I did use a cleaner at one point. It is a widget called Maintenidget.
