somebody rang my grandma a few nights ago saying they were from a computer shop and basically got her to download something on to her computer 'to speed her internet up' (virus probz)

my question to you is what is the AA_v3 virus? and what should i be looking out for on her computer that these people can install to steal info etc?

anything that doesnt happen normally, but in all honesty what is the point of viruses

turns out its a remote desktop application, what do these sorts of scams try to do? spyware?

im a mac person, but normally if you have a firewall it should stop it, and spyware or norton or something should detect a virus.
