Competitions vs. style

competitions need rules, are this rules good for style? is freestyle or just a sport like racin'? is better do freestyle skiin' for have a good time or for make contest?
 
Some people find competitions fun. I see where you're coming from though. But really the industry itself wouldn't really exist without competitions. There'd be no money in it, no sponsors and much less exposure to the general public. Competitions progress and regress the sport at the same time. They progress the sport by making people do harder tricks in order to come out on top, however with a busy competition schedule it's hard for skiers to find time to really work on style and BC stuff and whatever else they want to do.

Either way competitions aren't going away anytime soon and I really don't think they need to.
