I watch a ton of edits but the commercials tick me off. At the beginning of every video, there's a freaking commercial. Am i the only one that doesn't like this. I know it's a way to make money for newschoolers and get the companies products out there but it is just too much
 
i'm talking limited bandwidth as in 10GB per month or so and if you go over you get charged extra for internet.
 
for the money, obviously.

Even though its mean towards NS, i've been using adblock when i watch videos.

Yeah, we use the advertising to make money. We use the money to build features into the site, pay the staff and produce content. In the video section, we also share the revenue with our top-level producers.

So not only are you helping fund Newschoolers when you watch ads, you're helping build a new generation of content producers.

So watch ads... its good for the sport.
 
it would be better if there were a few different ads that it cycles through every time you watch a video. I find when im watching videos i see the same ad over and over again in one evening
 
I actually watch a fair amount of videos on Newschoolers. I especially like watching NSTV so I can sit back on the couch with the iPad and digest some ski videos.

The ads do not bother me because I understand why they're there, and frankly they give me a job.

I know that the balance is skewed. We're getting better at it every year, and as I always say its awesome that you guys support our sponsors by watching them.
 
I think people complaining about ads should have a temp perma ban until they pay 10 bucks a week to access the site. But, they could get around it if they apologize and make a thread about how they were wrong. Sounds good to me.
 
You don't just sit around. Its an immense amount of work to keep this thing rolling.

I mean, should we consider a subscription model? Would people really want to pay monthly to not see ads?

 
personally, i wouldn't pay for a subscription. Im sure some of the bigger contributers on newschoolers would though. If you do, there should be no ads and a few stickers too plus like a colered name just like how donations work. Or at least im pretty sure you get something special for donations.
