So here is the official review of the commencal absolut 176 ski

TIPS BEFORE BUYING

if you ride park please get them de tuned they are incredibly sharp. I went to set a front 270 and cought my inside edge and ended up sacking the rail because how sharp they were.

PROS

stupid light obviously

very springy espically doing flat ground Ollie’s you pop a lot higher

sharp which can be good and bad

great on jumps ( completely opposite of what I thought they feel amazing in air)

good feeling on rails

easy to get used too ( coming from the guy with a 22lb previous setup)

very flexible underfoot

dont chatter

full side wall

dope graphic that looks 100x better in person

Overall after just one day there are by far my fav ski

CONS

the 176s are actually 175 after measuring which isn’t that big of a deal

right Out of the box they had bubbles under the top shear in the tails (makes me worried for the future)

def not a downhill ski after riding down hill and park today I can tell there made for park

sometimes there so flexy they feel uncomfortable

very very sharp

OVERALL

if your thinking of buying them honestly I’d say go for it the pros way out weigh the cons and for the price they are overall great and I highly recommend and honestly I’m not sure why they aren’t as popular.

Yea they have a poplar core and full side wall I’m not sure how they make them so light but both skis without bindings weighs 4 lbs

bro you are reviewing Faction skis with Commencal label on 'em, you understand that? Next test Prada skis please

I believe commencal is trying to make their own ski and has separated from re-branding factions.

That was the case originally, but no longer.

All the Commencal skis are their own shapes/designs now and may not even be made in the same factory

Bro you're gonna blitz any ski tip jamming in into a rock with your full body weight

The way they split straight through makes no sense though because it’s full body side wall and I wasent going fast at all I’ve done very similar things going way faster on my edollos and nothing happened

That’s gunna happen to just about any ski if you hit a rock. Happened to some Wides I had. Fix it and move on.
