Comet longboards?

I need a new deck and the Comet voodoo looks really nice. The only problem is that everyone says its a great dh board and what i want is just a fun cruizer. Has anyone ever ridden this deck and does anyone know if im making a mistake getting this board.

Yes, I have. It's more of a freeride/DH. I wouldn't recomend it for crusing unless you droped that thing and got a softer flex.

do you know if the rayne vendetta is any better for cruizing stuff or is that still solely dh oriented

the comet voodo is a topmount speed board and is really stiff so yes its pretty much a dh board but you could easily freeride it. only problem is i personally dont like freeriding with asymetrical boards

The Voodoo is a really nice board, Im looking at getting one or the Madrid Mercado soon. I want a top-mount downhill board for doing downhill though.

Have you ridden a top-mount DH board before? do you know you like the feel? if you havnt Id look at other boards, especially if you just planning on pushing it around.

If you like comet, check out the Ethos. It will have a similar feel but its geared more towards freeriding and it has a tail. all around it will be much more comfortable to push/cruise on.

The board Id recommend though if you want a top-mount feel in a cruiser is the Candy Spanks Super Chili. Scroll through this page to see examples

*note that all the boards on that page are long gone as they were all b-sides, but if you contact the maker (Rus/Scratch) asking for a Super Chili he'll sell you what he has.

ive been riding a drop through mount deck. i just saw a kid with a comet voodoo and though it looked fun to ride. i might just get another bamboo sector nine deck because theyre so cheap. does the BC eel sit low when its drop mounted. for some reason the dervish sits really high and i want to keep my setup low.

Words of advice. Get a cheap drop through from thelongboardstore.com

mount it with some paris 180's and some 70mm wheels.

basically already had that. it was an $80 bamboo dropthrough deck by sector 9 with paris purple passions 180 and orangatang 4presidents

id check out the rayne husta too.. SUPER flexy, i know its not symmetrical but its still great for just about anything and its real fun to cruise on
