i wonder if colors appear to be different to different people. like your perception of green might be your blue to someone else. is there any way to describe a color? in someone elses mind the grass could be red and the sky green. Does anyone know what the hell im saying?

ya me and mikee talked about that for a while a couple months ago, so heres wat we finally came up with even if the colors themselves are different to diferent ppl the colors (like 'red' or 'blue') always have to be the same relativly to eachother bcuz of like shades and shit like that.

yes that is correct...isnt it nice? its the ass of the girl holding up the #1

that's what colour blindness is. but seeing red as blue and green as yellow isn't possible. I've thought about this too.

Colour perception is also related to experience. For example, the colour orange did not exist in the European vocabulary until the 11th century when the Arabs imported the "fruit approved by elephants", naranj. Prior to that, Europeans referred to the colour as an "ugly red".

An experiment was done with Inuit people decades ago which had them place similar-colored cards into piles. Sure enough, the cards we would consider orange, were either stuck in the red or yellow pile. Their eyes could perceive the hue of orange but the lack of a distinct word, had them randomly adding it to the "blood" or "sun" pile.

vert true, perception of a color has finite differences between people. this is related from experience - whatever was first identified as say red is then used as a basis for all other color perceptions.

like for magazines, they are viewed by thousands of people, and they don't want colors to look good to some people and not all people. so what they do is they take the three complementary colors - red yellow and blue. they then use different chromas and hues to get other colors. this way, color perceptions among readers are now as universal as possible seeing as the magazine designs are based off of only 3 colors.

so when printing the magazine, they take a picture and break it down, take out all the reds, the blues, the yellows. then they print out the picture in all reds, blues and yellows, then they layer those printouts to get an aesthetically pleasing picture.

sorry about the length.
