I'm from Colorado Springs, and I ski Summit County most of the time. This winter break a group of my buddies want to head south for a few days since we haven't been there in forever. I definitely want to hit up Wolf Creek and Telluride, and I would like to hit Silverton one day as well since I never made it there. We all can get good deals on day passes to Wolf Creek (not sure about Telluride though). So here are some questions regarding logistics:
-How should I go about this? Lodging in Wolf Creek areas is dirt cheap compared to Telluride, but Telluride has the night life too. We want to hit both for sure, remember.
-I was thinking of driving to Telluride first, then hit Silverton and drive to Wolf Creek that afternoon, but I can't remember how easy it is to get to Silverton from Telluride. I know they are fairly close...Is Silverton close enough to do a day trip from Telluride and back?
-Is Purgatory worth stopping at? It would be a hassle so it would have to be legit, and I haven't been there before.
-What are some average driving times in between these places?
