I already posted in regionals but it wasn't getting many views.

Of course I can google spots to hike and camp in Colorado but I would like to hear some local opinions and spots.

I know of Estes, St. Marys, and Hanging Lake.

I'm based out of Boulder.

Thanks so much!

personally i like the san juan and the sangre de cristo ranges most because the mountains are much more interesting and intense looking than any of the others in colorado.. both kinda far from boulder but if you're interested id give you some insight on some cool spots for sure

evergreen is a nice place to hike/camp.

its not too far from you either. went on a 2 night hiking trip the first weekend i moved to CO there. it was a lot of fun.

there's quite a few different routes you can take, varying in length and such. we were lazy and only did like a 13 mile route or something like that.

Rabbit Ears is a really sick place to go. It can be a long drive from Boulder, buy definitely worth the drive for a camp out.

-Pingree Park up the Poudre Canyon

-Anywhere near Aspen such as Independence Pass

-The Sand Dunes

-Anywhere in the San Juans

Estes is awesome because of RMNP but it's soooo overcrowded with tourists during the summer. There should still be some skiing to be had in there though I haven't been there this summer to confirm that.

Green mountain reservoir up near summit county can be fun. It's not very isolated but its got some cool cliff jumps
