I searchbarred but didn't find anything although im sure theres threads out there. But how does color correcting video work and how do you get amazing color? I know its partly a nice camera but still help would be really appreciated.

and that's under the effects tab for reference. and to the OP I hope you enjoy editing because color correcting, atleast in my experience, can be the most rewarding thing to become competent at, but is the most frustrating pain in the effing ass thing you'll encounter in post production.

i use premiere pro cs4 and i just use RGB Curves, under the Color Correction tabs in the effects window. I would think elements would have it, but no guarantees. Just play around with that a bit and you'll get the general cause/effect relationship of the curves you create.

and you gotta define "amazing colours"

alot of my editing i go for an older/burnt out film colour palette. lots of skiing and snowboarding uses heavily saturated colours, especially blues, while lots of skating uses heavily saturated yellows.

what are you going for?

A lot of what goes into good color is shooting with it in mind, so its hard to fix something thats just totally off the deep end bad. Magic Bullet looks is great, I used that a ton up til recently (now Apple Color is my favorite) The "Looks" are pretty sick and give great results, but they are just like a drag on effect, the manual control is the only thing I like more about Apple's Color. Overall, you cant go wrong with Magic Bullet.
Get Magic Bullet!
