anyone have any suggestions for decent colleges out west, colorado the best, that are close to good skiing and are good schools? especially ones with not-too-high out of state tuition.

dont go to colorado state, its like 3 hours away from good skiing. THey came to my school and it also looks like a pretty shitty school. Look at schools in denver, i know there are some decent ones.

Northern Arizona University is where I went for a few years. kick ass college/mountain town but the skiing sucks most of the time. skiings only 10 miles away but last few seasons have sucked ass for snow.

i was looking at UC boulder. but isn't it like two hours from good skiing?

yeah im lookin into u of utah and u of nevada at reno, u of utah is in slt like which is near a ton of good skiing, but all the mormons are the only detriment, and reno is near all the tahoe resorts, and i havent heard anything bad about it yet

western wa, pretty good school fairly easy to get into and 1 hour from baker and like 3ish from whistler.

fort lewis durango has badass skiing. Western state in gunnison has the best skiing. if youre just interested in skiing, go to gunnison, but only if you dont mind living in a truck stop town. i dont like boulder

Washington has some good colleges... UW,WSU,Central, Western, PSU and there are also a lot of ski resorts near too (Snoqualmie, Stevens, Crystal, Mt. Hood, Mt. Baker, Mission Ridge...)

i suggest giving washington a try

I was in the petting zoo, or as I like to call it, the touch me zoo this afternoon. All the animals were retarded. Some lady was breast feeding her baby on a bench nearby, an obvious signal. I sat down uncomfortably close to her and yawned my arm around her shoulder. In her attempt to squirm away, she dropped her baby on the ground. I pretended I was concerned for a second, then I punted it over the fence. She still didn't seem interested in me. Whatever.
 
yeah boulder just came to my school, 31,000 a year for out of state. thats insane, i also looked into scalarships for skiing at boulder but she said that basically only international racers get those. does anyone know any smaller college that i might have a shot at getting a partial scallarship in skiing. i have been racing for 7 years, will be on varsity for 4 years, capitian for 3 years, state for 4 years and hopefully nationals for 2 years

U of U is the best you can get anywhere. 7 resorts within 15-30 minutes. And once again, the mormons arent bad. They're just people.

I got to Colorado State, and its fuckin bad ass. You have to drive a little ways to get to the mtns, but its really not that bad for the snow you get here, $319 for a 5-mtn pass, that includes breck, key, AND VAIL. dont let the drive get you down, and dont go to boulder unless you like left-handed, left-winged, ass fuckers who like to bitch about everything all day. Boulder is a shit ass town compared to FT. Collins, and everyone in CO knows it....

University of Alaska Anchorage. Some of the cheapest out-of-state tuition there is (if not THE cheapest), and 35-45 minute drive to Alyeska. Surrounded by some of the best BC.

I got a friend here at Boulder that came here from Ft Collins...he says much more rad here. All the skiing is under 2 hours away, down to like 25 min to eldora. Sick halfpipe and all that stuff. Boulder is a really good school academically and just a chill place.

You don't drive 2 hours, who told you that? It's an hour drive to the best skiing in Colorado from Boulder, anyone in Colorado could have told you that.

^ ah, it said under 2 hours, my bad. Still, driving 15 minutes to get to some of the best resorts in the world has made it so i dont think i could drive more than an hour to go ski anywhere.

u of u in utah would be the way to go, it's so close to sick ass skiing. I actually go to UVSC in Orem, but even then it's only 45 minutes from all the best resorts. It's only 10min. from sundance. I pay 3,800 in out of state per semester. But if I had the money I would go to UofUtah.

 
cmc colorado mountain college if you want to get into the ski business. I think I will go there and its very easy to get into I hear. PLus its 10 minutes from steamboat if you get into the steamboat campus programs. Its only two years but I also hear they help you find a job in the ski industry after your tuition is up. But dont quote me on that
